Has anyone else read this book? It is about a girl in the 60s that is a perfect honor student then tries lsd once and seriously goes of the deep end (runs away from home, addicted to smack etc.). Cause I think it is a bunch of propoganda shit. If you have read the book I would like to hear your opinion.

I haven't read it, but it seems that the moral of the story is is that everyone who does LSD becomes addicted to smack and fucked up in the head.
 
umm, ya basically. Also you turn into a homosexual and recruit young girls to sell LSD to 10 year olds. That was in the book as well.
 
Yeah i have read this book. And if you look
in the book it says that it is based on the
diary of a young girl"Alice." it was a pretty
good book. and the book did not say that you
would recruit young girls to sell drugs. That
is what happened to her. It doesnt really say
drugs are bad either. It just tells the
story of Alice. If you didnt like it then
oh well. But i dont really think it was one
of those bullshit propoganda books.
 
How old are you people? That books been out forever I read it about 4 years ago...just a story of someone who wasn't meant to do drugs. That was the thing in the 60s run away from home tune in drop out or something like that. I dont think its propaganda either.
 
Acctually I read it in one day because I liked it so much. But after I read it I got to thinking about it and it just seems really dramatized. but i'll shut up now, thanks for the input
 
That book is a crock....it was eventually disclosed that it was NOT a journal but fiction acting as such...the author had some lame-ass excuse for the misrepresentation.
 
Oh, so the book was a fiction novel, i thought it was based on a true story!
Me personaly, i thought it was a good book, and had some really nice discriptions of Alice tripping out.
That would have been the harshist trip to have.
