I'm interested in the anti-inflammatory properties of curcumin and wish to push the dose. With studies concerning rodents I'm seeing 100mg/kg, while human studies have gone over 10g without any issues besides minor GI stuff. Any advice on the safe upper limit would be appreciated, I'm willing to take a risk.

It sounds like bioavailability is a big problem, but things inhibit glucuronidation can help with that. Is bioperine really the best option or is there something else?

Enhancing absorption may be a better strategy. Im unaware of anything specifically that does this but dont think it would be another drug rather creating something like liposomal curcumin.

Do you reckon mixing water + phosphatidylcholine + Curcumin really well by hand would be worth a try? Or do you really need some sort of vibration to make a liposomal preparation? Thanks for any advice, I'm not too keen on chemistry lol

They make them. I was cuious so I checked and several companies do manufacturer it. Little pricey vs tabs/caps but not too bad. To make, not sure but could check.

I have worked with curcumin a ton and I have taken doses in the upper range. I get a cough and pain in my long bones when I take very high doses of extract like meriva. I have a weird auto immune issue though so I am not sure thats typical.

Meriva is easy to make, its about a 10:1 mix of lecithin and curcumin, mixed in 70% ethanol and than dried. I have made a bunch of it myself and its very easy to make.

Also life extensions makes their own brand that has tumeric oil mixed in to enhance bioavailability. I would suggest buying some curcumin, mixing with some lecithin and than adding in regular tumeric powder(which still has tumeric oil) and than drying it, and you can have your own potent curcumin mix that is highly bioavailable.

Hope this helps!
