GLP-1 drugs for addiction?

Since the Ozempic craze started it seems like everyone is on them nowadays.

I am overall sceptical since there seems to be some funky side effects.

However one thing caught my attention for these class of drugs/peptides.

Its that alot of people started them to loose weight.
But a added bonus for many is that they just stopped alot of their addictive behaviors.

Like many alcoholics who just cant finish a beer.
Smokers who feel sick from just thinking about a cigg etc.
Even read several reports of heavy cocaine users just stopping without any cravings.

As a polydrug addict who basicly just rotate addictions i found this very inspiring.
And by random chance i had gotten ahold of 20mg of retatrutide.
Was helping a friend but he didnt need it anymore.

So i started 2days ago with 1mg, gonna cap it at that dose per week since i dont really need to loose any weight.

Already i feel my cravings getting easier to handle.
My worst addiction is Ketamine by far.
Im not a daily user but i end up binging it in periods and im just tired of the whole ordeal.

What i experience atm is probably mostly placebo.
Many claim they feel it about 24h after first dose.
But the full effects takes a few weeks to build.

Gonna update how it goes in this thread.

A little uppdate:

I started the Retatrutide in the evening after doing some K for a few days.
Not so smart to put a potent regulator of aptite and how glucose affects the body at that state.

The first day after i didnt really have much side effects except for a mild headache.
However i already felt the urge to smoke THC was less.

Day2 i had some Ket urge but was quite easy to ignore.
Overall i felt a similar way around basicly anything inc food.
Had to forcefeed myself basicly and really pounding liquids with electrolytes.

Most annoying was that it seems like Retatrutide makes my bladder a bit irritated.
Doesnt help i feel it a bit already from the K.
Nothing serious but def a slight irritation and feeling of not being able to empty the bladder.

Today i also got some stomach cramps most of the day.
Some hot teas with honey and water with some balsamico seemed to help.

Lastly i got hit by a wave of chills and tremors for a few hours in the evening.
Probably very low blood sugar and just the body getting used to the Reta.

Been reading alot and all of these are common side effects when starting or upping the dose.
Probably gonna take 0,5mg next time instead of 1mg.

I didnt eat great the 3days i did some K before starting.
So im Probably running on fumes since i havent been able to eat above Kcal maintance since Monday or Tuesday.

Luckily im used to doing fasting and other diets.
I was able to workout yesterday and overall felt good.

If i cant get another full meal in me today i will just pound red teas with honey and proteinshakes wide electrolytes.

All of this may sound awful and stupid, but im already feeling a strong difference in my urge for drugs.
Im not a stranger to suffering so if this stuff can clean me up then i have zero issues riding these side effects out.

Another update guys:

So the first few days was very interesting, like i said i dealt with some side effects but was overall happy with the loss of cravings for things like sugar, alcohol, nicotine and thc.

However day3 i got a major flareup in my Ket cravings.
Its like my body felt that other pleasure pathways were downregulated and just started pushing for the most powerful addiction i had.

Wasnt better the day after so i caved in while also treating it as a experiment.
Would it be different then before and would i be able to just do a little without going into a fullblown binge?

First day sure, it was easier to keep it at a lower level then usually.
However the days after it was like any other day.
I didnt go totally crazy but did about half a gram per day for a few days.

Now im back out of it and feel kind of meh.
Didnt expect this to actually make it harder or as hard as usual.

Anyway just gotta keep on trying i guess.
Took my second dose of Reta and just gotta stay positive.
Focus on the good stuff like me not wanting to eat crap or drink alcohol.

At least now i know that i still need to stay totally away from Ket.
Most who got help with addictions from GLP1 drugs got the effects after weeks or months.
So gonna give this at least 10weeks before i can make a real judgement if its something that actually helps.

thanks for posting the updates, reading them with interest

good luck!
Thanks, i saw that rule in another thread.
However i know that with Ket there is only total abstinence as a way for me.
Even after months of zero use just one day of use will start a spiral of abuse.

Luckily ive nvr felt into a longterm daily use, usually after a few days the positive effects go away and i will just start to blackout and feel weird.

But its the lack of control that gets me, also that after a binge it takes me several days to get back into my normal routines.
