I actually haven't tried out either one, but I'm thinking about making the investment soon. Has anyone noticed a big difference between them?
Obviously the Glow Rod is going to be much cheaper, you only have to pay for butane and maybe an occasional glow rod when you get clumsy and break one but they are pretty inexpensive to replace, and butane is also pretty inexpensive.
On the other hand, with the Herb Iron you don't have to refill it / worry about dropping or breaking any glass. The only downside is you have to smoke next to an outlet, and from what I've seen the cords are only ~ 6 feet long or so (personally not an issue for me). It's also about 5x more expensive then if I were to just buy a glow rod.
Have you gotten better results with either or? I don't know how quality the herb irons are and that would suck if it would die out in like 6 months or something down the road. I've also looked into embers which is like the Mercedes of soldering irons, but too expensive for me. Looks sick though. Any opinions?
