Glory Days
Nothin seems profound
With WD's around
All I see is overcast dreary skies
And all I wanna do is die
I know I've been down this bumpy narrow road
One too many times before
Welcome to my humble lifeless abode
I seem to be a sensation seeking whore
They say we Californians are well known for dreamin
Of the hot and sunny summer days
As I lay here on my bleak bed screamin
Thinking back on all the happy, hot, humid haze
And of our silly, wicked ways
You so blond and youthful wayward
Practicing by night and day behind closed doors
They thought us strange and absurd
Talking all the nights and days away
Sleep eventually would claim us
Each time spooning side by side we lay
Oh the days of chocolate dreams and dafodills
How I longed for them to never leave again
Stuck back to the bleakness of the present
Seems like a cruel game one cannot win
Longing for those glory days of chocolate and dafodills
Bracelets of sweet little golden hearts
And how down the aisle we almost marched
Somehow help me through the sickness
Of the cloudy, dreary gray WD's that seem
As if forever here to stay
