Stimulants Glass Pipe Residue with Ice / Meth

Hi all,

Whenever i smoke ice (im in Aus - otherwise known as Crystal Meth but it is high quality glass style) over the night i get a white residue right up the glasspipe. Once my gear is finished i then smoke off all that residue and it does feel good. Is there meth in that residue? Or am i experiencing the placebo effect. Further to this i've had a couple of big nights recently without smoking the residue, and i've just been smoking tonight and the residue is so thick in places it is turning into small brown blobs which take ages to melt but give off HEAPS of smoke when they do and seem to feel really good. Again I might be imagining it...

So anyone how knows how methamphetamine behaves, i guess its to do with melting points or viscosity or something - can you tell me if there is any of the good stuff in the white residue or these little brown lumps?

Yes, from my knowledge (and correct me if I'm wrong) this residue does contain ice, and is similar to how if you smoke a lot of pot in one pipe, it will clog up with resin...
 
That's called "Frost" and it sure is methamphetamine. You could take a lighter to the frost if you're trying to use it.

edit: brown blobs? that's not normal.. I'm guessing this "ice" may not be so high quality after all. I've never seen brown resin, always white.
 
ya as everybody else has stated it is similar to weed resin and if its turning brown or dark yellow your getting it to hot or it may be a little crappy or it could be cuts..
 
Around here the good stuff (maybe not ice, but close) is called Tina, which always comes with some very large shards that are nearly clear. It vaporizes very clean, leaving almost no residue. What is left is usually opaque white or gray,and looks like an ordinary water stain on a glass. Meth comes in various grades from excellent to horrible, with most being mediocre to good. It seems that the higher the quality, the less the residue, the better the taste, and the longer-lasting the high. The low-end stuff does leave a lot of brown or black residue that is not worth trying to smoke. Also in the bad shit there is sometimes some white crystaline stuff in there that does not burn or melt. What is that?

Not asking for precise ID, but curious about what all it might be. I've tasted it and it's powdery, grainy, bitter, and salty--but not like table salt--harsher. I'm no chemist(just a test subject), so I have no idea what it may or may not be.
 
It could be something like MDPV, which would be cheap and make the meth appear more potent. It melts (and should vaporize) at a much higher temperature than meth so it would accumulate until last. Or it could be a salt form, which would accumulate as the base vaporizes but have the same effect as the base when it finally vaporizes. If the peak lasts about as long for the residue as for the meth in the beginning, I would think it is a salt form of the meth mixed with the base. Exposure of the base to environmental acid fumes could cause this.
 
Also, if it's turning brown be sure you're not burning it, too. Sometimes holding the flame to close or for to long can burn your drug. When I used to do methamp, I always liked to melt it from the stem back down into the bowl, but it does take patience and some practice to not melt it down to a burnt nothing at the bottom.
 
if you can actually taste the meth vapor, you're burning it, hence those brown blobs. i never taste anything, if i do it right. it all goes through so smooth.
also, my bowl has a bit of this, and yesterday after smoking a bowl i kept heating and smoke repeatedly came seemingly from nowhere, in fact my most intense hit came from that residue. but the last few chunks of frost have been a bitch, i haven't been able to vape it properly for some reason. every hour since i ran out of actual ice, i've been attempting to get another hit from it (i hate the fiendy-ness of stims) but it doesn't melt. any particular way i should go about it? (i don't have anything hotter than i simple bic lighter, if you were gonna suggest i get a torch or something)
