Due to a multitude of health issues I am a chronic pain patient. I have a script for 2mg dilaudid twice a day. I have found taking them orally doesnt do anything..so i went to iv'ing them.For me 1 pill makes about 3 doses.I wait about 4 hrs between hits. ocassionally about an hr after doing a hit i will get cold, and i mean shaking and shivering, muscles spasming cold. I will sit in a hot bath till the hot waters gone..then on too bed with blankets and a heating pad.Then it turns to being hot..sweating headache and sick to my stomach. I wouldnt think 1/3 of a 2mg pill every 4 hrs..if needed..could cause these symptoms as an OD?? withdrawls?? has anyone ever heard of this? it doesnt happen everytime but it def sucks and any info on how to avoid it would be awesome!

-What are you using to filter? All solutions for injection should be properly micron filtered.
-Are you re-using needles?
-Are you swabbing the injection site with isopropyl alcohol?

that sounds like withdrawal
i use new needles everytime, even through them out if i have to stick more than once.i use alcohol wipes on my site.i sterilize my spoon in boiling water before crushing the pill into it.i use sterile water( i work in the medical field) add to mixture and dissolve over light heat..not boiling but very hot.i use a micron filter. i make sure shot is cooled down enough before shooting.i even wear gloves while prepping all of this on a sanitized surface as well.and like i said 1 2mg pill makes me about shots..i usually prep 3-4 pills at a time..so i end up wit 9-12 shots i can can use when i need them. and this doesnt happen everytime i have triend mixing them with xanax halcion(triazalam) and elavil in dif combos when this happens but they dont help.
i will add i was on norcos and somas for 2 yrs from 07 till 09 when i had my hip replaced then on them for 3 more moths for pain with therapy.since then i have had a hell of a tolerence..i could take 4mg of dilaudid at a time if i wanted and be fine. so i can really be withdrawl even onlytaking 1/3 of a 2mg pill every 4ish hrs?i have looked everywhere online and called pharmacists and they have said its not overdoes but they have never heard of anyone shivering and being that cold then burning hot and sweating..has nayone ever heard of this..and if it could be withdrawls should i just take another shot when it happens to make it go away??

most cronic pain ppatient have one extended release pai med and an optional short acting pain med like dilaudid... talk to your doctor about getting oxycontin or orphine, it lasts way longer and will prevent yo from geting that yoyo efffect
they had me on ms contin..didnt do crap! lol..i tried an opana once and didnt help either..so far the only thing that waorks is dilaudid..but since i usually take it every 4 hours i figured id be safe from th yo yo thing.i am so glad to hear there are others out there that know what this is..i really thought i was dying!
