Giving pot to pets can be fatal

I've never known a dog that didn't like to get stoned. Most dogs that live with potheads tend to perk up when they start to smoke and seem to be pretty euphoric after you've blown a few hits in their face.

I think it's disgusting that people would force drugs onto ANY animal. I think moderators have a duty to have some level of maturity, blowing smoke into an enclosed container with a living creature is not only cruel but very immature too.

You should be sick to your stomach that you do something that cruel.

I know I am.

Yeah, ofcourse you know how the dog feels about it..

This thread is old and it makes me feel sick to the stomach to know there are so many people on Bluelight that think their pets like to get drugged; "if it doesn't run away, then it likes getting high!"

Dr Paton said the symptoms displayed by animals varied depending on the amount of cannabis they had ingested.

“We get animals in looking pretty stupefied and bombed out to those with complete depression and heart failure,” he said.

“It is certainly not a good idea for pets to ingest cannabis and it can be fatal.

Even after what this man said people still think it's "no big deal" to give their pets drugs.. Think again, this time using your brain. Here's another thread on the same subject.

Um, tch can most certianly act as a stimulant and if it causes the animal to have a panic attack I can most certianly see how thats possible.

If you're going to get your pets high start them with small doses and work up, just as you would/should with most psychoactives. If they don't like it don't fucking force it on them, thats just plain wrong.

umm i never said THC didn't have properties of a stimulant. but its really unlikely that an animal or person for that matter without any serious heart problems are going to have heart failure from marijuana consumption.

seriously, half the shit being said here are just unsupported claims. how can a vet know if an animal is depressed? we know marijuana is pretty harmless in humans, and in lab animals. its not like our pets are taking huge bong-rips or smoking fat blunts or anything. get over yourselves and just admit most of us aren't animal abusers, we love our pets and we just enjoy making them happy.

i think it's irresponsible, but then again, so is drug use.
and regardless of whether or not you "force" the pet to ingest substances such as marijuana, if it lives with you, and you smoke often, it's going to experience it anyway.

my dog once got high. it was an accident though. and she always tries to eat my weed, but i keep it on lockdown now.

You couldn't be serious! I mean... sure, if there's nothing to avoid them inhaling your bongsmoke, then... if you were a decent person, you would give the dog away... or just not own one.
I have friends that claim they get their dogs stoned all the time and I think it's fucking sick.
Imagine getting hold of a four year old child, and shoving LSD, or Cannabis down their throat. Think about it, it's a very similar scenario, IMO.

I've seen some human beings freak-out, with which pot has not really agreed with them. Some of them nearly crying from anxiety, etc...
Imagine how the hell that shit would feel to an animal.

And... as for making the decisions for the animals, whether they "want" to get high or not... I don't think that's entirely up to us. They don't have the same "rights" as what humans do... but they sure as hell deserve the right to be sober, if they choose to.

This thread has turned into flaming war, pointless insults and instigating abusive behaviour towards animals. You can't play nice, so it's closed.
