I have an idea. Why don't you just order a custom batch of lick-n-stick temporary tattoos, then you can just apply one every three days, and if you break up, you can get it off with soap and water. Perfect!
 
Don't do it. You don't know what may happen in the future, (break-up, divorce, etc). I got a tattoo to commemorate my relationship with my boyfriend but its just our favorite song lyric, and I got it during a break that we took a while ago. Personally, I won't have any regrets because I'm always going to love the song, even if things soured in the future.

I totally agree with this. At the end of the day, you love this lady, so if you really know her and love her, then get a tattoo - I wouldn't get her name, as this can come back to you in the future, but a symbol of your love can never go away. YOu'll regret it if it turns out that you're not meant to be together only if you choose to - if you concentrate on the good things in your relationship - that tattoo should only bring back good memories.

I personally have a tattoo, symbolizing my friendship with someone who for some reason doesn't wanna talk to me anymore...no matter how much it hurts that we're not friends anymore, when I look down at it, I remember the good times, so will never have it covered up...your ink is your history if you get tattoos with meaning.

Don't get her name tattooed on you anywhere.Any tattooist worth his salt would advise against it as they will have done no end of cover up tattoos of ex's names.
Maybe yr symbol idea would be better then if you ever do split up you can then say the symbol means something different entirely.
Think long and hard before deciding what to do.
 
Also A girl can go out and think "I can do whatever I want now, it's not like he'll dump me, he's got my name tattooed on him!" She might not break up with you, but she'll make you want to dump her...oh for sure she will...
 
I've always thought that it's a bad idea, and consensus typically is similar, but you'd be doing this for yourself on your own body - I say do exactly what you want to do.
 
i want to get a tattoo to represent my gf, but a name is a little tacky IMO and there is always the possibility you guys dont work out.

For my gf im getting a hula hooper pin up girl tattoo because my gf loves to hula hoop.
 
Agreed that delsyd's tattoo idea (and others who advised to get a symbol instead of a name) is a good one.

There is no way in hell I would ever get anyone's name tattooed on my body.

That story about the couple who went to get tattooed together and broke up during is pure fucking gold. :D
 
I have my husbands name-his entire name-tattoed on my neck. I know myself well enough to know I won't reget it.But then, I'm insane.:D
If you're under 30, maybe don't.
If youre under 25, you're crazier than I am if you do.
 
About a year before we got married, my man wanted to ink my name on his arm as part of the tat I was buying him for his birthday. I said please don't.

Instead he got a tattoo that is for me that he calls butterflies in my stomach with my name in tiny letters as the spray paint can label. It could easily be shaded out with wrecking the integrity of the tattoo.

I am just not into inking names on flesh.

My dad has DEBBIE on his forearm. My mom's name is DOREEN. It now says BERTIE and looks like shit.

My aunt has a name tattoo on her ankle since she was in her early 20s. It only has a J in it so not really a name though she did leave the guy thankfulmy her current bf Has a J name lool.
You may regret it... i know you say you wont but chances are if it doesnt work out... if yall break up youre gonna be stuck with her name on you forever and maybe you wont care but your next girlfriend probswill

Alright I have my wife name tat2 on me, but we were married for 6 years first before i did it. What i did for her was on one of my tats i made the eyes of the wolf green for her eyes. Its simple she loved it and i knew if we broke up whats the harm with just having green eyed wolf on me. And yes we are still together 13 years now. Good luck man . Just dont do it til after years of marriage
