Girlfriend falls asleep on coke

There have been three separate occasions where my girlfriend has tried cocaine, all three were different batches and all were very good quality. My friends and I all experienced great euphoria and the regular coked up feeling, she on the other hand always falls asleep afterward. What in the world? I seriously have never seen such a thing.

Any explanation or ideas as to why this happens to her? She says she feels good, but it makes her tired.

queee?

coke, while a stimulant, has an extremely relaxed and comfortable high associated with it; it appears you are getting good coke indeed. it's nothing like tweaking on meth nor does it last anywhere near as long so is reasonably easy to fall asleep after a few bumps if you're already worn out.

I've had this happen to some people on other stims, too. May be related to getting less oxygen to brain, not sure.

My Missus of 25 years seems to be able to sleep on anything, where as I can't sleep for hours and hours after taking any stim, Coke at least 4 hours and then only if I'm lucky. In general I just make sure I have enough to carry me through the night and most of the next day rather than face the tossing and turning. Not good HR I know but then again I gave up all stims 18 months ago, as it was running into 3-4 day binges.

I'm still looking for the bastard that stole my self control =D

Ah, I was thinking that. Yeah, most times I feel quite relaxed and just loving, so was thinking maybe she was just already worn out all those times. You explained it much better though, thanks.

Thankfully, I never have to buy that speedy, edgy bullshit coke. Still, I thought someone falling asleep on coke was odd, but you've calmed my concerns.

The oxygen theory is definitely something to think about too. Good input from both. :)

@atm: I agree, Im quite similar even if it's good coke, obviously any cocaine is cut no matter what. Usually, I'd have to do a lot in a day to actually feel a bit speedy and not be able to sleep. But yeah, Im turning into a little binger as well.. Not to the point where Im worried yet, but it's getting there.

Very, very big congrats on giving them up for so long.

Thanks for everyone's insight, very helpful and I appreciate it.

Me on coke:

*Sniff*
1-10 minutes: O_O

10-30 minutes: :D

45+ minutes: -_- zzz

For the first 30 or so minutes I will have no appetite and no urge to eat; very talkative, I will sit back and enjoy the feelings associated with cocaine. However these feelings completely spin around and do the opposite during the come down. I will feel angry, hungry, sleepy and fatigued.

^yay, ciggs, and friends (preferably of the opposite sex) always makes for a good night. maybe a little weed won't hurt either

@ OP:

drugs affect everyone differently. your friend could indeed have a neurotransmitter-deficiency, and thus drugs (cocaine, amphetamines, ect..) make him/her feel "normal."

Not wishing to unnecessarily alarm people but I have a friend whose sister feel asleep after doing (I don't know how much, I suspect a lot) of coke. She then died of some kind of heart failure during her sleep.

I know I'm no t giving many detyails here but it's not exactly something he seems OK talking about...

me:-

do more coke :D
Coke is way too expensive and cut in my area to be of use, and I feel like anyone who buys it is blowing their money for the thrill of 'buying coke'.

But back to the topic at hand: cocaine is a TRI and your friend's situation isn't unheard of. A friend of mine passed out after she did cocaine while I was busy screaming about how I felt I spent $100 on a 15 minute engagement. (It must have been really cut coke.) She did coke a few more times (without me) and she continued the pattern of getting coked out then passing out within an hour. Later I found out she has some chemical imbalance that messes with her sleeping schedule and cycles. It was later theorized the rush of one of the three corrects whatever is wrong up there and she feels ready to catch up on the sleep she's been missing.

Mosty of my friends are awake for a long time and cant sleep after doing yay. I on the other hand (my friends said the same thing "what in the world?!" lol) It does create a sense of well being and relaxation like leftwing said. Does your GF have ADD or ADHD? I have ADD and thats probably why I go to sleep, adderall calms people with ADD down while it stimulates most people. Same concept as well. Sounds weird but its true.

Coke didn't exactly make me tired but it didn't keep me up and awake either, just calmly high, there was stimulation but it wasn't jittery full-body stimulation, more a relaxed talkative high. I could definitely imagine it not being too difficult to sleep, or someone becoming tired if they were already a little worn out from a long day. I've only done it twice though so yeah :)

I don't think non-coke users understand how addicting coke is.

Once a person has gotten their first good batch of yay, they're sold for life. Cocaine is a fun experience, because unlike amphetamines you can redose and redose and redose cocaine, still feel the same each time; the roller coaster high is part of the fun.

But of course, the fun is short lived. Cocaine is awful for you, especially the cocaine the average person can find/afford. Thus I no longer do it.
