Girlfriend Can't Get High?!

Hey team,

Well yesterday, for the second time, me and my girl tried to smoke some weed together. She's never got high before and yesterday was no exception.

As it's her first time smoking, her lungs are having trouble holding the smoke. When she took what I would call a low-medium ammount, she coughed it all out and didn't want to take that much again. She opted in the end for taking "lots of small ones" that produced hardly any smoke.

Anyway, needless to say she didn't get high by the time the joint had finished.

Do you think the reason she can't get high is because she can't take the right ammount? Is there some way to make it easier for her (considered edibles and bong, not gonna buy a vape)

Let me know what you guys are thanking
PEACE!

Many people report not getting high the first time they smoke. I recall the same happening to myself. I believe that some people's systems have to adapt themselves to cannabinoids initially before psychoactive effects take hold.

ye i think many people build it up in there head that smoking is going to be this amazing thing (i still think its amazing ;)) and then when it comes to trying it, shes already comfortable with you and relaxed around you and in love with you (?) so most of the benificial feelings from weed were there before she smoked.

And definatly she will be more stoned if she inhales more lol ;) but virgin lungs really hurt when inhaling smoke if i remember rightly..

She will get there in the end :)

Thankyou guysies, I'm gonna keep trying! Interesting point jackiejones, food for thought. Will update on progress!

I don't think she is really inhaling. I'd say even a simple homemade water bong makes the smoke much much smoother for nonsmokers. People who are used to smoking can prefer joints as they like the full throat burn but if you aren't used to it ice water to cool the smoke is the best way to go.

I didn't get high my first couple of times I smoked. I think the third time I finally got high. But all three times it was the same weed, and it was smoked via joint.

I didn't get high the 1st few times either. My boyfriend started blowing the smoke into my mouth as he was kissing me, so i could see if i could inhale better that way, worked cause i ended up getting high.

The stuff about your body needing to get used to cannabinoids is bullshit. It's because the little kiddies don't know how to inhale.

^i dunno about all that. personally i got higher than i've ever been the first time i ever smoked. but i've watched a lot of people take hit after hit of weed and feel nothing the first time they smoke. i know one girl that took 6 seshs before she ever got high.

my recommendation for your girlfriend is make a bong with an ice catcher and fill it to the top with cubes. a cooler hit always goes down smoother imo.

I'm starting to lean this way.

If any of you doubt it, let a weed-virgin you know eat a brownie. Watch what happens and then try to come back here and say that you need prior exposure in order to experience the effects of cannabis.

It's all about technique. It can be really hard for a non-smoker to inhale the thick smoke from cannabis

yeah, idk why people are saying, "oh their body needs to get used to it".
simply put, she isn't inhaling the smoke properly, I'm sure of this.

In my opinion first time smokers have more of a mind thing, that its going to be amazing. Majority of them get disappointed because of the hype of what they are expecting. In some cases users reporting smoking their very first time, does not have any effects. Then again, people above me have stated this, and i'm pretty sure you have heard this already.

I once knew someone who said she couldn't get high. She had tried dozens of times out of most devices for smoking and had tried many kinds of weed. Aparrently no matter how much she smoked it had no effect on her. I assumed it was a mutation of some kind, but who knows.

A lot of people report not experiencing effects their first time, I assume simply because they don't know how to smoke, inhale and hold their hits in properly.

disregard everything. listen to me. the problem is people dont really inhale it. all you have to do is see them make the cherry glow brighter on the joint/bowl/bong/blunt etc. to make sure they have gotten smoke in their mouths, then tell them to inhale a deep breath of air to get it in their lungs. noob smokers claim to not get high because they merely get the smoke in their mouths or maybe throat. they never truly inhale. i have seen it happen a million times.

also holding it for at least 5+ seconds helps too.

real smokers know the difference between inhaling and puffing and it gets extremely frustrating to watch weed be ignorantly wasted

Agreed. You should vape with her next time - much less harsh and so she will be able to really take it in her lungs.

you can do this it works. .. joints are harsh to new smokers a nice bubbly bong can help . Its easier to hit. She has to inhale it tho! Not just hold it in her mouth .
