i have been on about 750mg daily for about 3 years straight. sometimes for shorter periods due to availability problems only 600mg. i basically take 150 mg every 2 hours or so during my days. this has been baseline for me basically. if i wanted to get high i would add a recreational dose of oxy/xanax/morphine/codeine or whatever to this. i should also mention that rec doses of opiates were not regular and if i had a larger supply of let's say oxy, i would severly decrease my tramadol intake to maybe 150 - 300mg daily while taking a serving of oxy every 3-4 hours. i also went on nucynta at 600 - 1000mg/day for a couple weeks at a time here and there WITHOUT taking the tramadol to avoid serotonin syndrome (that i did experience to a certain degree just from crossing over)

so anyway, 750mg for 3 years straight basically... what am i looking at here going cold turkey? how serious will this be? i have different types of opiate withdrawals behind me, namely oxy withdrawals. those were pretty bad, i had a 7 year run with those and it took me many months to even get rid of some physical symptoms, although the hardcore bedridden part only lasted 4 days or so. mental recovery was a bitch too. how comparable will a tramadol withdrawal be given that i was on it for 3 years straight?

btw i'm also on 2mg klonopin daily. i try not to abuse them, i just got off a xanax bing where i would take 1.5 - 2mg daily (without the klonopin) with and extra 1 - 2 mg every 2 - 3 days.. did that for about 2 months... i know it's not a high dose necessarily, or relatively speaking, but i definitely noticed how much stronger xanax is than klonopin this time and i'm still adjusting back to the klonopin a bit after a couple of days. thought i would share this as well to express the fact that upping my benzo dose for opiate withdrawals is out of the question, i hate the fact that i worked my way up to 2mg of klonopin already, a couple months ago i was still at 1mg/day and i had it there for 2 years.

any advice is appreciated

*edit: i should probably mention that i have done tramadol withdrawals before but never beyond a 400mg/day dose and never after longer than 3 - 4 weeks of daily use.. so i really don't know zip... they definitely felt like opiate withdrawals to me though. i had less leg pain but overall it was super similar. i was pretty emotional as well how i remember it, very depressed. i never made that passed 7 - 10 days either so i have no clue about the real post acute withdrawal symptoms associated with this substance.

You can expect a rough ride, especially at those doses. W.D. from tramadol is two fold because of it's unique dual u opioid / SSRI / SNRI mechanism(s).I am on 400mg/day - never take more than 150mg in a dose, I honestly can say that I dread any tramadol withdrawal almost as much as I dread death . Tramadol having a unique "buzz" also carries a unique withdrawal syndrome. I would not let myself run out but if I did, I would have to get emergency kratom , pseeds or something because tramadol withdrawal, from my experience, is physically survivable but the emotional hole after discontinuing is devastating.

As far as post acute withdrawal and tramadol, I never could make it past a couple weeks so I can't tell you. I've known people to not feel right for year with opiate PAWS, some not so long.I paint a bad picture of tramadol withdrawal syndrome because I am looking at it from the perspective of needing it for chronic pain, and also needing badly the antidepressant side effects. Are you kicking voluntarily ?

Either way, you're gonna need Immodium ( please oh please don't start a loperimide habit, there are better things for opiate w.d. ) and the benzos you mentioned you are using, you're not gonna be sleeping easily for a while.

i took 2000 once and had a grand mal seizure that, along with my 2 overdoses, was the closest i've felt to death, altho i dont remember the seizure but my friends do.
i just woke up on the floor and i had pissed myself.

You should see a Doctor. Coming off that much Tramadol is very much increasing your likelihood of having a seizure. The 2mg/day Klonopin might save you though.

Think opioid withdrawal plus SSRI 'discontinuation syndrome' at the same time. I'd imagine it would be uncomfortable but manageable with something like kratom and Effexor.

damn

thanks for the input yall, not Trying2Iso though, i'm not sure what that had to do with my thread

so kratom will help huh? i thought kratom has ssri properties in itself? i duno, i never liked kratom, always thought it was worthless and made me feel shitty... but if push comes to shove i might have to try it.

i got loperamide for my wds by default. clonidine too. i gotta handful of pure codeine pills as well that i can take a couple days before the cold turkey to maybe help some of the ssri typa withdrawal effects. i will however take them kinda fast most likely as i am obviously not able to taper... like at all. i've tried many of times...
