Bluelighter
Background - a little oxy experience, some codeine and more recently a few kilos of poppy pods. No tolerance at the time of dosing (roughly 0:30am, Monday 07 April).
I hadn't planned on dosing today but the combination of reading so many pod tea threads and the giganteum pods sitting in their jar was too tempting to resist - got to love those freakily huge somniferums! The fact that I'd consumed about 10 beers meant my judgement was poor too.
I made two teas. The first was 3 large pods and lots of ginger (dried, whole ginger), ground to fine powder. The ginger adds a little to the taste - especially when you consume the grounds at the bottom.
I steeped the powder + about 1.5 litres of sub-boiling water in a cafetiere for 20/30 minutes. I poured a large cup and drank it. Unsurprisingly, I'd finished the first cup before the effects could be felt - any subtle opiate nuances were drownded out by the alcohol.
As I finished the second cup, I could feel the onset of opiate relaxation. Heavy yet floaty, less problematic in terms of clumsiness in comparison with prior use - the alcohol I'd already consumed meant that I wasn't going 'from perfectly upright to slightly wobbly'. I chugged down the vast majority of the grounds - definitely better tasting with the addition of ginger.
Because I'd been drinking, I wasn't content with a mild opiate handshake. I grabbed four more large (but very different - colour wise) pods and made another tea. I couldn't use the grinder as there was someone asleep in the house (it was about 2:15am), so I crushed them up by hand...
Side note : the china clay coloured pods tended to be harder to crack, weren't easy to squeeze and contained a larger number of blue seeds. The browner, more speckled pods were easy to rip apart but didn't make a 'snap' or 'crack' when broken up. They also contained fewer seeds and the colour of these seeds was brown - dead-looking seeds. I don't use the seeds but wanted to note the difference.
I poured the same quantity of sub boiling water over and left these steeping for 40 minutes, on account of the far smaller surface area. After the first cup, I got up to take a piss and found myself several times more opiated than I was 50 minutes previously. I didn't notice a cable wrapped round my chair leg and pulled my keyboard onto the floor. It made a loud bang, I stood still and heard my mother waking up.
She may have gotten up to use the bathroom but couldn't resist asking 'Did I hear a bang?' in the style that means 'Some of us have to get up for work in the morning - go to bed, don't go to bed - just keep the noise down'. I just about replied without giving away my inebriated state - just sounded a little drunk, nothing more sinister.
I struggled to finish the second cup - leaving about a 1/5 of the liquid in it. It was 4am and I was standing on the banks of the river nod, in the state of Nod England.
I thought I should sleep but didn't expect to do so. I couldn't afford to lie down and drift into a cycle of nodding and mumbling - the walls are thin in my house and I don't tend to nod at low volume.
I had a pleasant itch going round the shoulders, arms and thighs but my balls weren't going to be neglected. I decided not to fight it and that influenced my next decision - I wanted to lie down but not nod, I needed some 'stimulatory input' ergo _ ___ _ ____ (fill in the blanks). It took ages (no complaints though
) but the fire engine was getting progressively engorged. I had to call all crew members to vigorously pump the hose after a unexpected drop in pressure and an hour passed from the moment the 'fire' broke out. The crew did struggle to maintain concentration, nodding every few seconds and closing their eyes.
It was 5:30am and I was expecting to be able to sleep...no joy. I still had some nodding left in me and I was alternating between allowing myself to nod and shifting my head/body/pillow through every/any sleeping position.
At 8:30, my mum left for work and I got up. I didn't feel as if I'd had more than 30 minutes sleep, so took a few valium and half a dose of ibuprofen (I questioned whether reduced cardiac activity + lack of physical movement could theoretically cause a blod clot in my legs - I have bad circulation and wondered about taking an anti-inflammatory at this specific moment) but didn't expect to sleep.
Well, I got 3 hours solid sleep and when I woke, I felt better. I drank plenty of tea, cocoa and took my rx'ed dexedrine. Then I felt a little scattered so took more valium (d'oh). Now I feel tired, look pasty (the telltale pupils still - great
)and am yet to pass the 'stool giganteum' that comes free with every pod tea experience.
Not sure how interesting this report was - I just wanted to make a point of recording a pod experience.
EDIT : the constipation seems to be less of an issue than the first experiences with the tea.
