Giblets CLXXXII - Tree worship time is almost upon us

Evening all :)

Finally sat down and relaxed, feels like ive not stopped in 48hrs... long day..

And now ive got my homework to do, Shambles is going to test me on the BLUA next week...;) However, ive just bumped 15mg of MXE so fuck it... reminds me of school so it does :D

I dont like the meme no, i find it racist or in bad taste at the least... Theres too many buttons and MXE to do anything like warnings. I'll just delete it. Ok.

On the meme thing, I don't like 'em in general and that particular one seems to be set right on the border so it can be taken either way. It's not overtly racist but could certainly be taken that way. Was wondering whether to do owt about it myself and couldn't decide. It's certainly not warning or infractionworthy cos a) I don't believe FG is known for racism so it would be unusual if he suddenly turned on us, and b) lacking any prior history of racism there's no way to prove racist intent when it is open to interpretation. Under the circumstances, there's no great loss in simply deleting or unapproving the post and quotes of it.

SM: Check the "Moderation Tools" drop down menu on the bottom right just above the page numbers - that's where most moddy actions tend to be found. There's others dotted about (a few at the top of the page for example) but just ask in the modthread if there's anything you don't understand or can't find. There's actually a Mod's Handbook up in the main staff forum too from memory.

USDA: Stop Feeding Dead Piglets to Their Mothers!

A fast-spreading pig disease called porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) has killed over 2 million piglets in the U.S. since April 2013. Iron Maiden, a hog farm in Kentucky, has been grinding the dead piglets into smoothies, which they then feed to sows, possibly the piglets' own mothers.

The Humane Society's website caught this horrific practice on video during an underground investigation. The video also captures other forms of factory farm cruelty, including gestation crates. Piglets are kept in filthy, cramped conditions which encourage the spread of PEDV.

Iron Maiden is feeding sows these grim smoothies to prevent them from catching PEDV themselves. But if they improved conditions for all pigs, they would be healthier and less likely to get the disease in the first place. There is no point in raising more animals if they're just going to die of PEDV due to cramped and unsanitary conditions. Please sign the petition to urge the USDA to ban Iron Maiden and all farms from feeding dead piglets to their own mothers!

Please sign and share this petition in an effort to extremely punish a man who was charged with hanging 25 dead cats from trees. However, he has not been charged for killing the cats! If he did not kill the cats or have any responsibility, where did he “collect” 25 dead felines? Someone needs to further investigate and put this monster away. Please help in these efforts and gain justice for those poor kitties placed in plastic bags and hung from a tree like a piece of trash!!

A man named Rene Carcamo is under investigation after a public works crew discovered 25 cats in black plastic bags were hanging from trees very close to where the man lives. It was determined that the animals were already deceased when placed in the bags and then hung from the tree limbs. Necropsy of a couple of the animals thus far shows that they died due to sharp blows to the head.

Mr. Carcamo has not been charged so far with any of the deaths; only for illegally disposing of the dead cats. No one seems to be concerned as to how he got the dead cats and why he would place them in the plastic bags to hang from the tree in such a grisly manner.

Thus far, the only charges that Mr. Carcamo is facing are a violation of environmental law with a maximum penalty of one year in jail. Further investigation needs to continue to find out why this guy had all these dead animals and the role he played in their deaths.

Aside from the current charges related to the dead cats hanging from a tree, he is also charge with animal cruelty. Such charges culminated when investigating the man’s home where they found to sick kittens and five other cats found in poor health and severely neglected. He was advised to get the animals vet care which he did not. There is something abusive about the way he treats animals and investigators need to dig deep and find out his ties to the deaths of these poor cats and what would draw him to do something so inhumane as hang these deceased animals from a tree. Help to get this guy fully charged for his involvement in this case by signing and sharing this petition anywhere and everywhere possible as we speak out for all those poor kitties.

Morning EADD,

Another dreich day here... a little warmer than yesterday though. First quiet day this week what with my excursions to town for food/cinema this week. Don't really feel like going out in this weather so a good thing I think even though it's nice to shake up the routine a bit.

Getting to that time where I have to consider presents for family... always best to get it out the way early in December, which ain't far off now...
