Giblets CLXXXII - Tree worship time is almost upon us

bt unlimited internet / fiber runs a open wifi hotspot off your router for other people to use. Fuck BT

You can turn off the open hot-spot in the router config. I did it at my folks' because they live in the middle of nowhere and they don't have great broadband speed as it is! (although they live down a mud track in the middle of a field so I doubt many people would use the hot-spot anyway).

BT are pretty shit when it comes to blocking sites on the whole though. Luckily my VPN isn't blocked though ;)

Download the Browsec extension and you can bypass blocked sites. got it for chrome a few days ago, saves me going through TOR for a few things

I know :( also the routers they give you are super vulnerable and shit and they won't give you tech support if you use another

What known vulnerabilities are there on home hub routers? I know it doesn't support MAC filtering I know, but you can turn off DHCP and fix IP addresses to MAC addresses, which is still pretty secure, on top of standard WPA2 encryption? I was just pleased to be able to forward ports on it, so I can access my home server outside the house with a DDNS :)

I remember seeing a website dedicated to Home Hub exploits, but, on second thoughts, I think that it was for way old models.

So what happened with the new mod round? I call time out and a replay!

I <3 goats.

Maybe they need to reduce the requirements.

1. Do you have a computer?
2. Is it switched on?
3. Are you able to send a PM via the Bluelight system?

:D

really?? see if I can score it off one of my neighbours. God bless BT

You need to be a BT customer (so they can blame you and not the owner for illegal usage) and I think it's only uses a small percentage of the full connection, so don't expect fast speeds.

Soon, real soon! ;)

So it's illegal to do so, even though they leave an open hotspot for people to use??. Do they bribe the police with free internet to give them work or something.

Seems roganjosh has returned, after getting all the new applicants hopes all raised up.

Somebody please convince me that another couple of beers would be a rotten idea and I'll hate myself in the morning?

Large amounts of alcohol always makes for amusing posting. I say go ahead, lifes too short...

My willpower is fading.

Go to bed Sam, its Tues night still...sleep, tuck in and hugs <3

Why isn't the plural of mongoose, mongeese, and why aren't they Scottish?

Fuck yeez, I'm back to bed.

Because we don't have mongoose in Scotland, only haggis and sheep for shagging 8)

Get to sleep you :p You have a big new tomorrow of adventure and stop taking so much valium ok :\ x<3x

God, you're a sexy devil, any chance of another pic eh =D

Wise decision, Sammy. Stop now and have a good sleep, I couldn't agree more. Always the best thing to do

This is blatantly reverse psychology, hopefully we'll get a few regrettable and amusing posts out of him yet

No, it's illegal to do illegal stuff on the Internet. They make you log in with your openreach account so they know it's you and not the bill payer doing the illegal stuff.

Nope again, wait and see.
