That's not because they had pets though. That's because they were dirty fuckin scum. There's no excuse for getting a house into that state...

I'd also question the robbing cunt that quoted you 25000 for cleaning mould.
 
wtf @LoginNotSecure that is horrible!!! were you not doign inspections every so often? that is a long time of no cleaning.

and yeah, bad tenants, nothing to do with animals. when my bathroom started getting black mould in it i spent most of a day cleaning it with an old toothbrush and bleach.... discovered that inhaling bleach over a long period makes you feel very odd indeed.

i guess a lot of the 25k will be replacing carpets, redecorating etc... though that is still pretty dear

Carpets and floorboards are soaked with piss, kitchen was trashed and chewed, bathroom just fucked, even missing the bathroom door, not sure how that happens..! £25k is rough price of everything, windows, flooring, new kitchen and bathrooms, some building and plumbing works, new radiators throughout etc.

You obviously need to choose better tenants then... 😀

Admittedly pets do cause damage, but they don't rip bathroom doors off, ruin windows and radiators etc...
 
Radiators and windows are fine, just dated, and radiators have been painted so will never look decent/clean. But yeah, dropped a ball on my part. First monthly inspections went fine, rent was always on time, didn’t think much of it. Came back to bite me in the arse though.

Now monthly inspections are every month, no matter what. Still need to grapple a piss soaked mattress from out the attic. Literally no idea how they squeezed it up there as the loft hatch is tiny!

Onwards and upwards though!

eek yeah, I realised even as I posted that it's a nuanced topic

in fact my present landlord faced a similar bill after a cpl of dogs had all but destroyed the place...took me ages to persuade him to let me have me cats iirc

some landlords are far too precious about semi-shithole properties though for sure

it's probable that you're not all cunts etc heh, what I really meant was Imma not moving into an animal restricted zone as I seemingly need their presence to feel ok

Holy boke! Hope you’ve a regulator mask. That mould is no joke. You should know this though I’m sure.

Id cut the mattress up into smaller pieces and bag them up in the attic. Fuck manhandling that shit through the small hatch again.

Also 25k is scandalous! I’ve had a full make over on my house including back garden landscaping, top of the line everything and it’s come to 19k euro. Maybe it helps to have a fine ass and be an expert eyelash flutterer.

I’m the same tbh but it’s a carry over from work. I really have to chill a bit. Crumbs are the enemy though and will always remain that status!
