Well peeps. Me dried fruit is now soaking in brandy, plenty of brandy. Tomorrow I will attemp to make my first Christmas cake. Ooooo yesssss wayyyy hayyyy WOOOOOOOSH!!!!!

I must be getting old getting excited over making a bloody cake. Evey don't do cooking. Evey does shove it in the over cooked in 30 job. WTF is happening here?

Taking something out a packet and putting it in the oven to heat up is technically not cooking.
 
My boss reckons I have adult ADHD. I reckon im just easily distracted when most tasks are tedious.

As I type this I am procrastinating over an excel budget I began 16 hours ago which should be one hours work, but I've managed to do around fifteen non work related tasks in that time:D

Can I ask what country you reside in? People are too eager to diagnose everyone with things these days. My advice would be if you feel it's having an impact then maybe go the GP n ask for help with it. I think when I was lurking there was a convo on here about adult ADHD n medication - can't remember the thread. Maybe you're more of a physical worker than sedentory worker n so you're brain works better when completing those activities? It doesn't mean you hace adult ADHD. Also what substances do you consume regularly? They may also impact on your concentration levels. However, I don't know you so only a professional would truly know. Hope you're ok anyway.

I reckon it's more my boss projecting his own issues. He does that a lot with just about everyone, from my observations.

I am a bit scatty, and a stoner, but that's fine by me.
 
Yeah, I love motorcycling Evey. I prefer riding them to working on them.

I have to balance my bike thing with my family thing, as both are not cheap.

The bike I'm building is going slowly as I'm gathering pieces as I can afford them, and waiting for them to arrive from the USA (I'm in south east Asia). Plus I have over a month's salary gone on school fees for my eldest.

My main bike is getting some work done by a mechanic friend and having it's bodywork and tank repainted by another shop right now. I was hoping it would be ready now, but no such luck. This week is a major national holiday here; all work has been abandoned until next Friday.

It's sunday afternoon here now; once I get this bastard work document finalised I will be putting my feet up with the missus and the later tonight go to watch Ireland play in my mate's pub. There's rumoured to be some blue casper pills around that the lads are raving about so could be fun!

I cannot get motivated today, thankfully I cleaned and tidied the place yesterday and have nothing that important to do today.

Negativity seems to be a bit more clamped down these days by mods so shouldn't really put others off too much hopefully. That shit ain't on.

I think Sadie is trying to be pro-active about unnecessary, provoking comments, which is far more commendable imo than turning a blind eye. I still heed your point that people should be able to express themselves how they see fit, be it positively or negatively. There comes a fine balance where mods should intervene, and so far they're playing it pretty well as far as I can tell.

My comment wasn't directed at Sadie but at bluelight staff in general. Sadie does a fantastic job here. However I do notice elsewhere the "power" of the mod. Just recently a good person, eadders got banned for a comment in a forum that was neither here or there, however the mod of that forum took offence and to be frank did not understand the cultural difference. They've often mentioned the colloquial nature of eadder posters but damn them if they do post else where on bluelight... The majority Americanism just does not get us.

Evey I'm really impressed by your Christmas cake. What an amazing thing to make, well done you. Who are the lucky people who are going to get a piece of this cake?
 
Thanks. Was my first one. I've bought some electric scales that actually have a decent size font on - so thinking I can now do food prep for week n try to eat more healthily from now on. I've a book from INSANITY here which is Americsn but I know like a cup = 8 ounzes which is 225 g if I remember correctly. I can start doing more food wise. I can do more than I thought zi could. Is it extremely sad that I'm pleased about this?

I never thought I could cook a cake so I never tried.

Evey, that does look like a damn fine cake! I haven't baked in yonks and look forward to doing so in the future. I was a damn fine baker but time and a broken oven have put a stop to that.

good morning people :)

well il of been here a week tonight totally bored out of my head most of the time sit not scored anything as of yet which is a good thing just got 15 cans of fosters Saturday drank 11 in a few hours wasn't as hung over as i guessed i would be on Sunday but i cant afford to be doing that all the time fucking gas to warm the place water and the likes costs a bomb so ill have to start putting on two hoodies i guess instead of the central heating

end of boring update :)
