Gibberings Honda CX500 - knock's a very naughty boy

Not wearing a hat was a cornerstone of HR in the 90s! I think I remember a Peanut Pete comic from that era advising ravers not to wear hats as 80% of your body heat is lost through the top of your head (I think this has since been disproved) and people in hats in packed warehouses on loads of pingers could overheat and not realise it.

There was another one that used to get handed out - Paranoid Pete and the Dont care bears ?

Indeed! I think I may well have some in a box somewhere... If I find them I'll dig them out and scan them. I think I've got a few copies of Shimmer somewhere too, which used to get scooped up off record shop counters at the same time as Lifeline comics, because back in pre-internet days little zines and leaflets like that were one of the only ways to keep a finger on the pulse of what was going on in the techno scene. Chillin FM ftw.

Im sure the original wasn't as scary looking as that though?

remember the h one of them. yes they were scary looking. the h one had a woman giving blowjobs for gear in it and then reiterated the fact that she then needed to keep doing gear coz she felt so bad about the blow jobs. they were grimy looking cartoons

They definitely were, a bit cluttered and naive imho but doing a laudable job at a time when there was not much else in terms of sensible HR to counteract the flow of propaganda.

I suspect that the pic BL has posted is from a modern reprint as they were always b&w photocopies on coloured paper back in the day.

One of my previous girlfriends once confessed that she'd seen an old anti-heroin poster and quite fancied the guy on it. Which would explain what she was doing with a pale, underweight, shady-looking character such as myself.

Yeah that was the only copy I could dig up - I'm sure that the care Bears one was printed on orange paper (a4 folded in half) It had actual care bears on the cover? You know when you left a rave and everyone was there handing you flyers - you came around a few hours later and had one of these in the pack?

What ever happened to Codshit? Has he changed his name or banned?

ewan mcgregor never looks as nice in any film other than train spotting. i watched him on some un delivering vaccination programme "delivering vaccinations to the poor natives of the back of beyond" he came across like a real imperial colonial cunt

I'm not sure which stereotype offends me more in that pic - Peanut Pete himself or 'the north' depicted in the background.

Still, it's like you say: there wasn't much else around then apart from propaganda.

Hahahaha! Spot on. :D

I particularly like the 'tripe works' in the background :D

If it were exclusively circulated in Yorkshire and parts of North Lancashire then it might've been a more accurate representation.

As it is, I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks the whole 'northern' angle is merely an excuse for a bad pun. Which is admittedly laudible.

AFTERNOON ladies and gentlemen, seems I had too much cider and midazola agan and stuarted making crazy suggestions about hacking, and PM reading and police involvement, Forget everything I said. I was out of my head. I don't even really know what time it is.

I think everyone does at some point... I had that with work all through my 20s. Now work is so on/off that I don't get a chance to worry about whether I'm about to be unmasked as a massive fraud or not. I just turn up and throw myself into it like a madman.

@Mugzy... the drugs ain't doing you any good. If your oases of calm are characterised by doing weird shit you see as nonsense in the cold light of day they're not really worth it, are they? Chill out (naturally).
