Thank you so much flower <3 It's always lovely to see you back as I miss you and your charm ;) x

ps: how did you know I've taken to liking my hair like that these dayz!

Hah, the gardening bit sounds quite nice. I kind like our strange office in spite of the mouse poop I have to say.

A proper working environment really does help productivity, definitely. The new model they have adopted here, all about cost cutting of course, is open plan call centre like and it is not going down well. Thankfully the job at hand means nomadic and remote working but try to work that out in old style mandarin command systems... Apologies for the work rant Wibz <3

My wife didn't realise that "horse" is another name for heroin, until a minute ago. ;)

I have never heard that term before 8( Hopefully Scotch will know exactly what I mean, ffs you've been hanging about with oor FabFloX

Lobster curry is very nice. Crustaceans go well in a lightly spiced sauce, very much so %)

Had a good time in London at mates stag night. Didn't get too drunk/hungover which is good. We took out those bikes and cycled some distance while pissed.. probably not the smartest move but we ended up at a strip club in one piece. Then after that we got one of those bikes which a carriage to take us back kings cross hostel (well I did with 2 others, rest got night bus), had mcdonalds and more booze from nisalocal. Sort of standard end to night but felt weird after strip club. (bike n carriage not normal part of night btw.)

Was good, strip club was shit but i've never been a fan, we weren't in there long. Pub crawl mainly, though I couldn't tell you a single name. We went shoreditch, covent garden -then it was just pub/bar/club/pub could have been anywhere, that part of brain switched off at that point.

Spent way to much. The soon to be married had a great time so thats good to hear :)

I treated myself to an Xboxone today on the old credit card, justified by me not spending money in gear from today, what the hell is all this downloading games and not playing straight from disc??

I don't understand why it's needing internet connection to do it either? The house I live in now doesn't have the best of internet with it being sky, I had something like 50mb Virgin in my house which was pretty nifty. This is just a joke though, I put the game in about 3 hours ago and it's not far off done but it's bloody annoying.

Not impressed so far with this Xbox experience, is Sony the same??

As far as stuff like that goes, PS4 has been fine for me, think the only problem I've had is just now having to switch to the 360 to watch All 4 cos PS4 is all shitty about Flash. No problems with downloading updates or owt like that though, and our internet is pretty average. Not noticed any games having massive ones to download straight out the box either which is always good.

Pretty much yeah :(

Welcome to the next gen! :/

It does depend a lot on the game I guess, if you put something like GTA5 in now it'd have a massive amount of updates in comparison to a smaller, more stable game. What you playing (or waiting to...)?

Yes you need internet connection ! It's a pain if you don't have a decent connection as updates are released quite often and you have to install them to continue playing.

Doesn't seem like progress to me.. What's the reason for it?

I got Battlefield4, that took ages but let me start playing at about 50% and now I'm waiting on Thief... I got a new 1TB Xbox and just for the games from CEX, can't be doing with full price games, seems pointless. Got battlefield for £18 and Thief for £10.. I've just found out the new girl who lives here works at CEX so I'll be getting further discounts in future..

It's at 94% now...

Get Witcher 3. A good 100 hours of entertainment there. I got it in May and I'm still not finished, despite playing most nights.

What's the reason for it?

Because no developer manages to finish a game before they have to ship it these days :(

Day 1 patches etc.

Do both consoles actually *require* an internet connection these days? I feel like I should know this. I remember when the PSN servers were down (around Christmas?) none of my games would work but there was some menu setting that made licenses available offline (which required an internet connection to set), but I don't think it's actually been without a connection since.

oooh so Sadie and SproutonSmack are the new mods.

I was going to make a mod betting thread again, but meh, done it before. Sadie would have been favourite at 2/3 and SOS at similar odds also. Was an obvious outcome really.

I just hope SOS is cut out for the job. moddin' aint easy, yo

Hullo fellow bluelighters!

Scotch, welcome to the future! Creators don't want to spend money on CDs when they can just chuck the digital software to an online store. They also have so much pressure to get games out ASAP, so patches and bug fixes are quite the normal too.

After you've downloaded it, some games allow you to play offline, but it's going to depend on if your game save data saves to your hard drive, or server side. each has its own benefits.

My motion sickness has passed. I have the day off work today and I have no idea what to do with it. I want to do something exciting, but at the same time, don't really want to leave the house.

Xbone doesn't usually need internet, if you want to just play the game, install it with the xbox offline and it won't make you need updates. There''s only a few games that actually recquire an internet to play at all. Seconded about getting Witcher 3 though, finished it when it came out, and now enjoying a second playthrough just as much with different abilities and choosing different choices.

I've had Witcher 3 for a few months now and still not got around to playing it passed the first 30 mins - I must try and get into it as looks great.
