I'm part of no pack if I see something I find genuinely objectionable I'll say so, I'm not very thick skinned so may react more strongly than some, dunno others would have to judge that.

His largely ignorant and badly executed trolling is one thing but making those kind of remarks about those who have sadly passed on is several steps too far IMO.

The fact that he is on the BL staff makes a great deal off difference to me, IMO that precludes you from being deliberately inflammatory or downright offensive especially when your doing so outside of the forum over which you preside.

If you don't have an issue with it fine, but it's clear quite a few people do. I'm sure we can all respect each others view without descending into the petty squabbling OTW is so clearly wanting to bring to our happy corner of BL.

bullies like that prey on weakness, show any sense of fight whatsoever - even if you feign it - and they will leave you for easier pickings. ive had friends targeted in the past and the only way to respond to the bully/twat in question is with extreme aggression, which they easily understand

I am not one who speaks in riddles or requires anything to be read. The easy path is to feel all fluffy, glorify getting fucked up and take no responsibility when things eventually do fuck up and people die. I call a spade a fucking shovel and think having a shrine is like getting a red ribbon at school for finishing last.

Where were you when they were incoherent and losing their job? Where were you when they made no sense and everything sounded like a lark? If you won't hold the mirror up and call people out before they die then that is your call, but I have never sat here and been happy to remember only the good times after someone has died, particularly when after a while you see the car crashes happen in slow motion.

The shrine is a shame. Ask yourself why so few real life family members bother to contribute to them? It's because if they knew half the things that we knew about then in their final days, they would no doubt have made more of an effort to save them. I prefer to make that effort than have to pretend that death was inevitable.
 
I think you'll find death is inevitable.

Other than that, does not compute OTW. People here, particularly people like Marmz, do fucktons to help people in need and do not glorify bad behaviour. And when people die they pay their respects appropriately.

You've never contributed to an RIP thread? You think BL is culpable, above society, above the individual, in all deaths? Does not compute. We had one of EADD's finest die this year, Charlie Clean, sweet FA to do with illegal drugs or BL. There must be many more CC's over your ten years. You've never been moved to pay tribute to a single one?

But then, maybe you don't get that quality of poster or empathy in loungeshire.
 
How does writing a few solemn words in a rip thread actually " contribute"? To little far to late in my opinion. I have lost count of the number of members who have posted a suicide note here that I have pm. The majority have messages me back and we usually have chatted until the next morning. Most I have never spoke to before. Personally I find that far more cathartic than a couple of words in an rip thread.

The closest I have come is creating a roast thread for tally after he died. I know he would appreciate a bollocking far more than a few hundred strangers crying about a life gone so soon. He was my friend and I still miss him:(

I find your points incredibly black and white OTW.

Maybe you have never had to 'save' a friend, maybe you have and succeeded. But not every case is the same and not everyone can be saved. People have to want to help themselves. There is only so much you can do.

And of course there are lots of negatives about bluelighters who died. No one is perfect. But that doesn't stop people remembering the good points about them. Obviously some people like to post in the shine topic for whatever their reasons. Why is that such a problem to you?

I don't see how it affects you enough to make incredibly harsh, sweeping statements which are obviously going to cause offense to people who have lost mates. Seems rather insensitive to say the least. Just don't click on the shrine topic.

To be quite honest I don't know how you became a mod with the attitude you show here.
 
I can easily see how RIP threads might be a reminder for some of their own mortality. By reading them or contributing a few words, people may think a little more wisely themselves at some future date.

You describe your desires to do something similar for a friend, who you still think about. So why are you so harsh on people who only seek to do the same, in any way they can, in similar circumstances?

To tarnish people's feelings with the one stroke fits all brush of ripping the shit out of people for upping their post counts in an RIP thread is just exceptionally mean and insensitive. Some people here have lost real life close friends this year. Find another parade to piss on.
 
@OTW: Everyone deals with death in their own way. I don't post in the shrine thread for my own reasons. Others choose to for their own reasons. No one is right or wrong in this case. For you to claim your way of handling things is the right way and everyone else is wrong is incredibly narrow minded.

I don't think you have been in EADD long enough to earn the right to comment on the bluelighters who died, personally. You are clearly going to irritate people by doing so, especially in the condescending, 'I'm right, you're wrong' manor your chose.

You are either trolling or just acting like an ass-clown. Either way I won't be reading any more of your posts.
