Guy Ritchie's fucking abominable and all his films are shit. I wouldn't defend anything that he's ever worked on. There are British films which don't just involve contrived banter and two-dimensional psychopaths, however. Or Hugh Grant.

I'm a bit twisted me though and quite like wallowing in the dark side at times. But yeah, first time I watched it it really did freak me a bit :D

Also, I said nothing of the sort 'semantically'. The comma in 'It's trying to be a cult film, it's like that fucking Brad Pitt as a boxer one' (cough cough note correct use of quotation marks) is an admittedly lazy and vernacular method of separating statements. I'm actually saying two things about the film and should probably have separated them with a full stop but contend that the sense is intact because of the second 'it's'.

PS have you watched 'Nil By Mouth?' There's an extra dimension (and then some) to the psychopaths in that. 'Dead Man's Shoes' is a caper movie with gaffa tape and secateurs. It's flim-flam, a gauze, the lightest haze of smoke. A fairy fucking mist what dawn's light shall dispel.

Sublimely good movie. Oldman perfection. Kathy Burke gets major loves from me too.

I contend that DMS is 'trying to be cult'. It's contrived as fuck, which is one of the hallmarks of 'trying to be cult' in my opinion. That daft car the villains drive, ees contrived senor. Ees not realistic. Ees like Del Boy's car.
