i was born in singapore but, as i have scottish parents and was born on british soil - the british military hospital - i'm a british citizen. i grew up in edinburgh. went to college there and did my post-grad in glasgow (strathclyde, before you ask). moved to london. from there to boston. from there to san francisco. from there to south lake tahoe. from there to boston. from there to my current home in sacramento.

i became a u.s. citizen in 2011.

when i moved to boston, the patriots were the 2nd worst team in all of football (after the bengals). i paid my dues and went to games and, for 4 years, watched the losses pile up - including their superbowl loss to green bay in 1997. i'm not a fair-weather patriots fan i was there from the start.

i've been to more raiders games than any other nfl franchise so i do have a soft spot for the raiders...

i am sorry to hear that.

when we moved here, we were a bit worried it was going to be lame. but we've been getting out and about, cycling around town, going to events, trying out restaurants and finding cool bars. we're enjoying living here.
