What is it with folk when you are walking down the road and you move over like a considerate human being to allow enough space for them to pass and they carry straight on without giving an inch. Pisses me off. All they have to do is move a little to allow us both enough space to pass but they don't they make you have to move more or go on the road. What are they just inconsiderate assholes who think the whole universe owes them a favour of something?

The thing is that attitude makes me want to do it. Against my better nature. So I end up shoulder charging the next fucker who doesn't get out of MY way. That's no way to go about things man. Show some consideration.

@ Wigrid: find a Council gym. There's normally 3 or 4 in every town. Look on their website. You can pay per session rather than sign up so you won't lose any cash on it. Plus you'll get concessions discount on the cost cos you're on the dole.

Council gyms tend not to be as plush and don't peddle the lifestyle bullshit that most morons subscribe to. If you've got a Pure Gym in your town they're a chain but cheap as fuck and open 24 hrs so you can avoid the prima donnas and go when its quiet.

Appeal your dole sanction pls. Its worth a shot.CAB should be able to help if you're unsure of what to do.

+1 on the puregym, I used to love going down at 10pm or later and it being pretty much empty, not a single wait for any weights or machines. Just don't turn up at 5pm. As for social phobia, I feel ya. I used to only do 30 second rests cause I felt so awkward just standing there doing nothing for over a minute. Have a smartphone in your pocket then you don't have to look up too much between sets and headphones so you can ignore people ;) That's how I used to do it anyway.

I battle with that one daily. I have no clue how it's possible for so many people to be so completely unaware of their surroundings when they're out and about. People duel walking taking up the pavement, and the tons of other different circumstances of people walking and doing things that causes this situation.

Whenever I've tried to think of reasons for it happening, the best I've come up with is that maybe it's particularly recognisable to people who are pretty self-conscious when out and about. I know I am, and I'm obviously therefore being very observant about what's around me and what's coming up and what's near etc.

I always find it's mostly women. Usually the older the worse, too. Maybe that's my inner misogynist and my inner ageist conspiring to skew my perception. I don't know.

Sad though, yes. We're not even a nation of shopkeepers anymore, just shop assistants.

Haha. What I particularly hate is when you're walking between like a wall and someone else and someone opposite is coming straight towards you, even though you can't move over but they can. But they don't and just end up pushing into you. What the hell.

aka a BMX and a jack russel on a string.

what pisses me off is people who amble along with no sense of purpose, two abreast, on a narrow pavement, forcing you to walk on the road to get past them while they puish their fucking zimmer frames along and with their umbrellas with the metal ends poking out 360 degrees around them AT EYE LEVEL.
