There used to be a lamp post near where I lived (probably still there but I've not been up that way for ages) with "FUCK THE POLE TAX" written on it. Always made me laugh.

Kill the Bill, Kill the Bill, Kill the Criminal Justice Bill

Mike Skinner said:
And to the government I stick my middle finger up
With regards to the criminal justice bill,
For all the heroes I met along the way

Aye, when I say "always made me laugh" I mean literally every other day from the age of about 10 to 18 lol.

This pole decoration I spotted in Berlin had me in stitches.

Oh I forgot there's some new graffiti down the road from me, in huge silver spray right across a red brick wall, just says

STAB YOUR FAMILY

KIDS ARE SHIT

=D

Talking of the Criminal Justice Bill, I was on this march and very close to Downing Street (like within fifty feet) when this happened:

Check how close they got to busting the gates at about 4.20- really looked like they were about to go, and then suddenly the mounted police were down on everyone. It was terrifying - everyone shouting and banging shit one minute then eerie silence apart from thousands of feet pounding on tarmac as we ran for our lives. Remembering that gives me a real surge of adrenalin and fear even now - wow - nearly 20 years later.

Curtains and a grade 2 undercut mate, best of both worlds.

Actually it was probably a bit longer then, thinking back, but definitely all shaved up the sides and back like a proper twat.

Yeah that I would have been mesmerised by that FUCK YOGA one

God when living in Bristol I was on dole at first, just volunteering in a couple of places mainly this building in Stokes Croft called Coexist (sure the Bris folk will know it) They do all sorts in there, bar, music, dance classes, community kitchen, festival offices, bike project etc, but they had loads of Yoga people and spiritual healers, that did massages there. there was this one Japanese guy who used to come in every Thursday, and charge 'suggested' £2 donation to hold his hand in front of your head for a few minuets while you had your eyes closed, never actually touching you at all. People would come back twice in a day giving him a fiver each time! I swear if he wasn't Japanese nobody would have gone near him

I never went on any of the CJB marches meself. Most of me mates did though. Dunno what I was doing. Probably broadly similar only with less police horses.

And as for haircuts, man there were a lot more mullets around than I recall ever seeing back then 8o

Mullets were only really identified as such in the late 90s, before that they were quite common on the rave scene, especially the more free party / traveller end of it, but kind of nameless.

I don't have any sympathy for the riot police, especially on that day as they were almost all badgeless and completely unidentifiable, but I had a flash of empathy looking at the ones standing behind the gates and thinking how terrifying it must have been to stand there watching the gates about to go in with a huuuuuge mob going mental behind them. Bet they've been replaced with something stronger now.
