I'm alright man, but the more I think about it the more I think RM were fucking irresponsible sending me out again. :!
They seem to regularly be flippant with a lot of your needs ... their attitude when you went off with your hip was shite too. Can't stress how much you should get todays events at least logged/documented with your union or HR .. if you ever need to make an official complaint about poor treatment from them in the future, a log of events like the one from today helps towards demonstrating good cause for grievence should it be necessary to prove one at some point

jesus thats fuckin ridiculous sending you out after you had been in an accident thats taking the piss. look after yourself man

They really were. Take it easy man. Phone in sick and chill for a few days or something.

Can't phone in sick, I'll be on a "stage 2" warning on their absence procedure. I'm already on a "stage 1 " warning from when they put me on a ridiculously hilly walk which I told them would cause me problems and I had to take a couple of days off sick then.

If I'm on a "stage 2 " warning, one more absence in the following 12 months would = dismissal.

Although....

this is the way people challnge and appeal against stage 3 dismissals.

when you say their being flippant with a lot of my needs, it's not just me, its all employees, they are trying to drive out full time permanent staff, in an effort to take on a new casualised part time workforce on temp contracts, in order to make the business more attractive for privatisation.

It's disgusting the way they are treating us.

This is an old article, a couple of years old, when this targetting started, it's just been getting worse and worse.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-job-Royal-Mail-took-disciplinary-action.html

I still like my JOB, the WORK I do, I enjoy it, but my employers are scumcunts of the highest order. if I hadn't gone in today, I'd have been onto a "stage 2 " warning.

If you have four absences, or 10 days sick in 12 months you get a stage one warning. It's not that they doubt your genuineness at all, obviously 8( but if you have that many absences you are maybe not ideal for the job.

Once you're on a stage one you have 2 absences, or 7 days total sick in your second year to triger a stage 3.

Then you're fucked, cos even one absence, can, and usually does result in dismissal.

Yes.

In terms of any future absence leading to dismissal ... I think they'd have a hard time defending a decision to dismiss you from any absence incurred from todays events (even if it's based on 'accrued number of absence days to date), given it wasn't for a recurring illness, but a totally unrelated matter which could not have been predicted or prevented by you, and nor is it likely to occur again.

When you appealed that dismissal in an employment tribunal it would likely involve a review of todays events, and I think there's a chance they could be found as acting negligently towards you, as well as having their decision overturned.

gram of 5-MAPB on the way, apparently more euphoric shorter lasting than the 6, should be nice

yeah im not feeling too much off this 1, but something, a bit slower, tis enough for me, feel half knackered from work

What you say makes perfect sense Marmz, and many people have been through similar situations, and still got booted, or if they're lucky ill-health retired, which is about a years salary pay off.

Always worth a try though. And I certainly would try, with full union assistance if it ever got that far. A lot of our mah=nagers are thick as fuck, posties aren't known for high intelligence, but most f us can run rings round them in an argument.

But as I said, its my day off tomorrow anyway, and I'm no longer shaken....just aa bit pissed and benzoed and placebo-stoned....

Cool.

I've driven on some of your little Devon/Cornish roads, and some of them are scary as fuck. Single lanes with highly grown native fences .. visibility is poor as fuck. not fun to drive on at all

@ Cornish
: if you're still looking for a job, this looks like a pretty wicked one
