Course fishing only for me, I'm not coastal ;)

I used to do a fair bit when I was young with my dad, just planning a bit of float fishing on a lake or 2 with the kids whilst on holiday.

My dad doesn't really go any more but has an enormous amount of tackle built up over a life time, he dropped off a carp rig as well but I doubt I'll bother.

Is brown fishing like the brown noise, where is Shambles when you need him?

That's ideal for kids, go a few hours before, or the night before and dump a shitload of groundbait in your swim.

A couple of hours catching little tackers on light tackle, ace fun :)

Perch is very good to eat if you get one over 12oz, just like bass. Apparently UK perch are a lot bigger now than when I was a kid, might get off me arse and get a couple of me brown fishing rods out...keep meaning to, but only for eating fish, not catching them and putting them back in the same pond...brown fishing, pointless. ;)

A little bit of pointless is just what I need and not to be under rated, the noble art and all that.

There is a lake or 2 on the sites we've booked so I thought it would be a chance for me to occupy the small people in a effort to get into Mrs A's good books
 
I used to catch & eat perch in France many moons ago.

Just used to stand atop a waterfall and cast off/reel a spinner in towards the rapids.
They'd come shooting sideways across the current and take the bait right before the waterfall. Good fun and good eating.
