i talked to those spiral tribe types back in 1995 when i seen them play.they seem to prefer acid to e.i bought a tape off one of them kinda techno style not my cuppa lol
i talked to wayne anthony the author and acid house promoter genesis from london.he put on huge warehouse raves with biology and sunrise in 89.he didnt have a great opinion of spiral tribe or the free party scene.mb because he made thousands every week putting on events back then is my guess

Obviously the actual tunes are a matter of taste. Is more the vibe at the parties that is worth remembering. Other tunes were/are available. Just so happens they were friends of friends so stick in me mind more than most is all.

In other news, am bastard annoyed that I bought the wrong booze earlier. Fukkin tolerance! Has to be spirits to make a boozy night count these days. Shitehouse. Not even got the right kinda drugs in me stash to rouse me from an alcoholic semi-stupor. aMT is about as close as it gets and even I'm not sure I can be arsed with 12+ hours of it... although I have sod all to do tomorrow or over the weekend...

after my 70+ pill xtc extravaganza the last four weeks im staying off e got myself some AMT instead for the weekend.i stayed up for 48 hours taking it with my mates last time i took it...its probably a bad substitute for e now that i think bout it :-P
 
wow, strange to see a mention of Spiral Tribe, I met the tribe outside of Amsterdam in the early 90s, it was fall of '93 I think. Am an American from an unhip part of NY state, and while we'd heard about the rave scene in Europe and England, where I was from there was nothing like it going on at all, we were mostly still grungers and didn't even quite get what the burgeoning rave thing was about. Met the tribe "by accident', some dude at the hostel I was at in Amsterdam said the tribe was camped nearby, and he and I and a couple others brought a bunch of cookies and biscuits to a big field outside of town and hung out with the tribe for an afternoon. Whole scene blew my mind, it was sort of like being with the Dead and a bunch of euro hippies except they had like 2 full trailers (just that I could see) filled with amps, lights and electronics. Whole thing felt like a dream and later couldn't even explain it to friends back home cause they didn't even get what the tribe did, just kept asking "So is it a band or what?"

Funniest part of whole thing I guess is the guy who took us out to meet the tribe was a thief and ripped off a chick at the hostel before disappearing, got everything but her passport.

anyway sorry rambling, just memories of a long time ago from a yank who's feeling good tonight, nice combo of stims and opiates. Hope all's well with everyone across the pond.
 
^ Nice to see such Goodies got at least some attention from wanderers from afar. Grateful Dead isn't such a bad comparison really. Kinda similar in many ways. Loadsa drugs, loadsa hippies (well, krusties mostly but similar species) and fine tunes for all concerned. Shame about the thieving though. Very much a faux pas at such events... but there's always a few turds in the punchbowl as they say :\

I get so loved-up on that stuff it's not always entirely suited to a night in alone though. I get a-hankering to go see people and that ain't really practical at this time of night and at this distance to the nearest friendly face.

Dunno if it makes for a sensible swapsie for an excessive pill binge but I'd suspect it probably does. At least if you don't get too ridiculous on it. At least we know it has decades of safe use as a daily anti-depressant behind it. Albeit not at silly doses.
 
i love amt too i took it for months in a row before i got back into mdma. duration wise more bang for the buck.
what do you think is a fair price per pill..i have blue blanks that have been tested and contain amt
 
thieving and general chaos is why the acid house promoter i spoke too said the krusty free party scene sucked balls :-P
even though acid house events were illegal they still had security men more to make sure people paid to get in and too guard the vast quantitys of profits these events made and keep dickheads and theives at bay
 
I never had any problems at krustified freeparties... but ya, there were usually a few shady fucks dotted about best avoided. Mainly at the smaller, properly out in the sticks shindigs though and easy to spot and steer clear of. Nothing like as bad at the big events. I've had way more grief passing by the fukkin D&B tents rammed full of chavs wiv sharp things in years since :\

Is true that the downside to the less-legal party scene is that... well... it's less legal so you kinda have to look out for you and yours sometimes. Was never summat that I had trouble with, or ever knew anybody get in trouble with, but it certainly did happen. Got worse as time went on too :\

As for aMT, have no idea what a fair price for pills is. Only ever had powder and mostly just from the usual vendors. Had freebase from other sources but never had to pay for it. Didn't know you could even get it in pills really. Wouldn't fancy pills either unless I was damn sure of the dose. Very dose sensitive is aMT...
 
a little birdie told me the pills are 10mg AMT
three of them had my non hardcore pal happy all night and next day. i took considerabily more.
what dosages do you take shambles?
 
I have read that there are 7 realms of hell. I now know there are 8. The password realm 'abandon hope all ye who enter'..arghhh those fucking muddled up words wtf and the audio thing is no different. The thing is i've got different passwords for different places. I think i'm going to unify them a bit. Oh my nerves n arf playing up.


Anyway... CELEBRATION


Well done Knockando and Top Monkey v happy with the choices. You both seem to be reasonable chaps.<3

I feel for you on the p/w front though. Manage to lock meself out me 'puter for hours at a stretch more or less every time I take ketamine :!
 
there are 9 circles of hell
the ninth circle of hell is frozen bitterly cold with a massive lake of frozen blood and shame.
never been...ive been to the first and second circles of hell and made it back. they were fucking dreadful tbh suffering pain guilt lonelyness despair no hope ie not nice.

in happier news i got 100mg of AMT that im gonna rinse tonight every cloud eh :-P

No its a poem that has a lot to do with the bible but yeah it is 9 circles. Its been about 10 years since I read it. I hoard books so its still here somewhere so I'll have to blow the dust off it and get into a bit of Dante for a while I reckon.

For anyone whose interested its the story of a chap named Dante who walked the 9 circles of hell where souls were lost in lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, fraud, violence, treachery and limbo. Dante had a guide though and after walking through the center of the earth ( hell symbolic) he emerged, saved and probably v relieved.

It's not about Dante it's by Dante (although I suppose he's also the narrator being guided through Heaven, Hell & Purgatory by Virgil) and is called The Divine Comedy. Got an audiobook of it read by some serious actor type. Is very good. You a believer in Purgatory then, Jess? Seeing as it's a poem about the Bible and that. If the Heaven and Hell stuff is accuratue then the Purgatory stuff must be too, no? ;)

i know you dont have faith shambles but if your eyes had seen what i expierenced during and after my homeless drug addict phase your views might change.
i dont care if u believe in heaven or hell i am not slightest bit worried about convincing you of anything religious i hate the christian church and have no time for it myself but a little faith never hurt no one ;-) billions around the world have religion are u saying they all are deluded

PS: I have much sympathy for folks who've done the homeless drug addiction stuff... cos I have too. Shite innit? Don't really see how it's relevant to owt religious though.

But best leave such stuff to the Theology thread. Is what it's there for - to mop up the overspill ;)
