I have massive respect for them - not just because they're obviously great at what they do, but for hooking up with the Sisters Of Mercy for a US tour in the early nineties. An attempt to break down barriers by two bands who are both regarded as 'cool' in their own subcultures.

But then:

In 1991 they organized a controversial North American tour in double-act with Public Enemy. Fearing a clash between white fans of The Sisters with the black following of Public Enemy, several towns banned the performances, and the tour was cancelled halfway through.

There was not a single such clash of that nature on any of the dates that went ahead.

Aye they're great, would absolutely love to see em live and didn't know they were still touring. Not been to many gigs since I was a tragic 15 year old demi-goth. Tempted to go see Dropkick Murphys in January but we'll see.

To be fair, I've seen this happen. 2 people carriers full of armed police marching people I know out a house shouting & screaming at them all because one of them had pointed a BB gun out the window & someone had phoned the police lol. I wasn't in the house, just happened to be walking past & someone shouted me over "XXXX, c'mere & see this. Mad XXXX is getting done by armed coppers!". The boy who had the BB gun is about 40 (so would have been about 32 or so at the time) & off his rocker. He was laughing like fuck the whole time, everyone else appeared to be, quite rightly, shitting themselves.

Still, that's the sort of prank I could pull on someone right now if I wanted to. No need to go rooting about in the BawsDeepWeb to get it done. It's a total 12 year old pissed off American Warcraft player stunt to pull lol.
