I really enjoyed watching that show. I found it very amusing just how fucking stupid she was, and how biased and alarmist it was. (For the benefit of other readers, I think we're both talking about some BBC 3 rubbish on earlier.)

I liked the bit near the end when she met the fairly intelligent well-spoken young woman who very clearly and politely explained testing her pills, and the relative safety of taking ecstasy if you're sensible. They went on to film her on a night out having a good time. This presenter woman just couldn't process what she was being told, being all "she seems fine" in a brilliant concerned-but-gormless voice. I think she may have the brain of a particularly dim 11-year-old.

Hi friends, as some of you may know I got a sabbatical from work and decided to go on a trip of a lifetime with my girlfriend to SE asia. Some of you may have also seen that a british tourist has died in a boat accident in Laos. Me and my girlfriend were on that boat and are very lucky to be alive, the boat was speeding through some rapids at about 8.30am so people were sleeping etc and suddenly water started flooding over the side. My girlfriend managed to get out pretty quickly but i got stuck by all the furniture flying around and was stuck inside the boat when it sank, I managed to wriggle free and swim out underwater and get to the rocks by the side of the river. From the water initally coming over the side to the boat being completely submerged was easily under 10 seconds, I'm fucking surprised there has only been one fatality. Those that managed to get free were just being churned around in the river by the strong currents, being taken upstream, being pulled under, being dragged away from the banks of the river.

We are safe now bar a few bruises and a gash on my ribs from being thrown around inside the boat. My girlfriend and I have decided to stay with the friends of the girl who died to make sure they get home ok etc, I've lent them my credit card to book flights home as I was the only one to have any cards/money in my pocket at the time.

I'm going down to my embassy later to try and sort out some travel documents so I can go to Thailand and fucking chill out on a beach for a while.

Sorry for the self indulgent post, I just wanted to let some of the people who I had promised to update via PM know I'm OK.

I've been on my fair share of rickety boats, run down busses and the likes on my travels and have always had a slight fear of something like this happening but for some reason you always think 'nah, this only happens to others..' Can sort of imagine the terror :(

I have had a horrendous couple of weeks. I don't know what's been going on with my my life lately. My nan passed away a couple of weeks ago, I intentionally overdosed on GBL, and my heart nearly stopped beating, I broke my hand and two days ago, I got held up at knife point. Just wanna say, love to all of you. x
