Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has hired lawyers ahead of filing a suit against Australian PM Julia Gillard for defamation, he said during a TV interview in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where Assange has been given political asylum. Gillard called the leaking of diplomatic cables through Wikileaks in 2010 “illegal”, and Assange believes that as a result financial services companies refused to accept donations to his website in Australia. Mastercard, Visa and other leading transactions companies continue to refuse to service Wikileaks, which is in a perilous financial state, in most countries around the world.

Personally I find it fucking offensive that the BBC harp on about missing children to keep their audience enthralled, I should call the cops on them.
 
BBC New24 has some of the worst reporting out there. Nauseatingly poor. Their generic interviewing technique/schtick makes me fucking angry. It's like a Chris Morris parody sketch half the time.

And the 'content' while covering a disaster or situations of combat like Afghanistan has been borderline offensive many times.
I remember when the figure for British soldiers dying in Afghanistan was hovering over the 98 mark ... and they were holding out for the 100th to make a meal of it and they appeared desperate for 2 more to go so they could show their '100th' party piece/report.

And when there's been an earthquake in India or whutnot, they'll be in the field talking to victims and people who've lost their entire home and family ... and the only thing they keep heckling the interviewee for is 'just HOW DEVASTATED are you'? 'you must be really SUFFERING right now' ... let's really get to the bottom of your HORRENDOUS experience now that you've lost ALL YOUR FAMILY and you've got nowhere to live'

urgh. They barely even listen to the answer or let them speak before interrupting them if their answer's not quite hitting the BBC's need for hyperbole and finding the ultimate in tragic circumstances to capitalise on. It's never about actually hearing what they've got to say unless it comes under the reporter's checklist requirements for finding the ULTIMATE shitty situation of someone's to exploit. It's so disrespectful to those who are interviewed

I took the plunge and declared my interest for a room. It was the one that is closest to work in an average house, negatives are that there is a live in landlord, and there is no washing machine(but washing can be done in their other house whenever we like, so it does kind of have facilities. It's a lot closer to work. To be honest the selling point was that My bedroom has an adjoining room only accessible from my room so I have two rooms for the price of one.

Need to go and see them again tomorrow after work to fill in some paperwork and leave 25% of my deposit down so they don't think I'm gonna leave them up in shit creek. I'll get a proper receipt for my upfront money and it should all work out fine :D 25th of October will be my last day in this shithole, just to move to another shithole.

I've never heard of that. I'm ashamed to even be on the same board as someone who has. Worse, much worse, somehow my fucking girlfriend knew it and is now jumping around in front of me screaming it in my face. My life was good 5 mins before that.
