Gibberings CLXXXVII - Feeling Funky (monkey)

This is what it shows you if you type an incorrect password in........

You have entered an invalid username or password. Please enter the correct details and try again. Don't forget that the password is case sensitive. Forgotten your password? Click here!

You have used 2 out of 5 login attempts. After all 5 have been used, you will be unable to login for 15 minutes. .

The administrator may have required you to register before you can view this page..

It then e-mails you a new one....

Tut-tur Mr Shambles.....fancy you not knowing that haha!! :)

NB...the only reason I know it is cos I'm so thick i always log off and forgot mine :)

Then I'd presume that many (perhaps most) folk - like myself - have no fukking clue what email account was used for their BL account (and wouldn't know the p/w to access it even if they did) so would be unable to recover any p/w recovery emails. Alternatively, it adds one further step to folk wishing to use the p/w scrambling option - change the email addy associated with the account to some throwaway random one.

Or, once again, go oldskool and just get massively wasted before attempting any such thing.

Of course the other alternative to those no longer wishing to participate in bluelight is simply don't visit the site anymore.....

(as far as I'm aware) its not compulsory to log on in the first place.

Simply don't type www.bluelight.org into ones browser anymore and hay presto!!....problem solved!! :)

Haha!!.. After my departure and swift return a few weeks back I see your point.

With the ignore button though if I have someone on ignore its for a reason and I don't click the view post button unless I've seen in a quote a particularly nasty post and I want to check when it was sais (that's o ly ever happened once BTW). I've only ever once put someone one ignore as well. Someone made a good point the other day regarding the ignore button in that if someone keeps quoting the persons post in their own then its redundant.....no system's perfect though I suppose :)

Oh yeah I nearly forgot....you know you were saying about forgetting which email address you used to open your account....how many of the fuckers have you got? Lol!!.

I've got a hotmail one for personal stuff, a work one and a secure work one (dot net) for sending confidential patient related stuff. Do you keep opening new ones all the time?

Fuck knows. I've had gazillions but don't really use 'em for owt other than registering with sites I subsequently forget I registered with or for receipts from ordering stuff. In both cases I will inevitibly use them so infrequently they'll be closed via the autoclose after six months without accessing most email providers use. Basically, I don't really ever have reason to check any email account so they tend to get closed, lost and/or forgotten. That and whenever I do open a new email account I'm usually wasted and only doing it on the spur of the moment cos I need an email addy for some specific immediate need which will most likely soon be forgotten anyway.

Ahh right.....
It is a fucking pain remembering passwords in general. There's all you home ones cor various things, personal stuff like online banking, e-bay, facebook, e-mail ( :) ) etc... Then work ones. Even if you don't work in an office you still normally have logins for a couple of different systems and the work email. Woe be tide anyone who uses an "easy to remember" password as well. Lots of secure NHS ones require at least 8 ,characters, 1 capital, 1 symbol etc. etc.

Yes it needs to be hard for someone unauthorized to gain access but shouldn't be so hard that the legitimate user cant get ln either.....grrrrr!!!!! :)

Right bed time for me....night peeps <3 <3 <3

And it is morning!
Happy wednesday!

also, fucking cold, woke up hungry and alone in bed. At least I dont have to work today or the next week. Wish i could use this time... ahem properly.. but alas, not going to work doesnt count as not having anything to do. so here i am, again online, looking for stuff to write a thesis on

happy Wednesday is right. radio ads drive me mad. first one was a be clear on cancer ad the second was a have you got ppi? sounds like diseases every where. I hate it all the useless lies spouted from the radio waves.

i dislike the lies in the media that come disguised as news more than the ads. at least the latter dont try to pass off as the only truth

Do they fuck... Not anywhere that i go, and i travel all over the country. You must just be lucky...

I would have assumed that if the ASDA and Tesco here do it, that they all would as a matter of policy. After all, it's a simple thing that will increase their sales, so it seems like a no-brainer to do it.

I am surprised by this and will check Morrisons at one point. :D

Not only do Tesco not do it around these parts, but they've put the cigarettes behind the main checkout area in my 'local' (i.e. conveniently situated) city centre branch, so rather than dealing with the kiosk staff - who knew what brands you preferred, what was in stock and where to find it - but you get one of the ordinary till staff, to whom you have to explain the difference between King Size Rizla and regular ones ("Are king size the big ones?" "Yeah.").

I'm not blaming the staff by the way, who've probably received no tobacco training, and probably resent the ten yard walk to the ciggie cupboard which they've been lumbered with. It just becomes so much easier to buy your baccy from Aleef's up the road that I can't see how they don't do something.

that method is about as successful as people using the ignore function without giving in to clicking on the "View Post" button. It's a noble ideal but almost nobody manages to (not) do it.

Yeah i get so tempted to view posts that i've put on ignore. is there a way to change the way the ignore works on this? if i recall, on an old car forum i went on years ago, if you put somebody on ignore nothing would show at all, no option to view post etc

Tunes on & mashup time with summer <3 =D

Nice, enjoy each other :)

I'll be stuck at work all day while the sun is shining brightly outside..

I agree mate. It would surely make sense. It's now got to the stage where i feel more comfortable buying porn than tobacco! :-)

Good to know that romance isn't dead.

I haven't written anybody a proper letter in years. Used to love it. I suppose unsolicited love letters don't count, eh?

Hi!

It's so much snow outside and it's still snowing :X:?

Making ground beef stuffed bell peppers in sauce and mushed potatoes today, even throught i'm very moody. I feel like i need a beer =D
