I speak to a guy called Uel in the North, funnily enough. Never been called it though!

Unfortunately, I had blonde hair, freckles, crippling shyness, and wearing smeared lipstick would have been social and literal suicide for an awkward Scottish working class boy in the 80s.

I did it. I had a girl who'd backcomb my hair every day too. I was too much of a wuss to see that it was a bit sexual. Tsk.
I did have to get good at running and carrying weapons though. Nineties east Manchester wasn't receptive to my experiments somehow. :D
