Gibberings CLXXXIX - Squirrel Nut Zippers, the Albert Hall and going cookerless

There's some good autobiographies of people who've been through addiction n rehab. Please don't read them if they'll trigger you. One good one is Anthony Kiedis Scare Tissue. He went to many different rehabs. Kerry Katona Still Standing (she was addicted to coke), Kelly Osborne (vicodin). Theres more but cant think off the top of my head. They may be triggering though so if they are don't read them.

Sorry ignore my last post i read yours wrong initially.

Anthony Kiedis I could read no problem. I actually intend to. Katona and Osborne on the other hand, nah...:)

As for triggering, I know you have to limit your exposure to them but I think it's learning how to deal with triggers that's the key..

I could find triggers in so many things that I'd have to lock myself in an empty room and stop being human to avoid them..

Going to the toilet for instance, I smoke gear at work in the toilets.. That'd be as much a trigger for me as reading about somebody using.. I need some new tools, these ones are all blunt and fucked...:D

Yea that makes sense.

Anthony Kiedis is a good read, very honest. A lot of his songs written for RHCP are of his drug addiction like Under the Bridge.

Kerry Kotona was one of the people I was judgemental tiwards before I got addicted to codeine. I remember saying "How could a mother do that when she's got kids." Karma eh. LoL.

Good book that scar tissue. Check out Slash: The Autobiography as well, worth a look

Morning all! The weather is very wet today and my feet are going to get soaked because I have open toe flats on to go to work :( should have been wiser but blisters from that work are killing me! Hope everyone has a better monday morning lol

I'll have a read of Slash'. Will look if it's on iTunes. Started read Cheryl Cole n im already bored on chapter one lol.

Love reading autobiographies but not necessarily when someone else has written it. The only book ive really read like that was Paul Burrow about Princess Diana. Met her when I was 7 doing gymnastics. It was weird because until then I believed that princesses were all with long hair n long dresses like the fairytales lol.

I like the read the person's side of things but with Paul Burrow he was talking about himself too so was an interesting read.

Same here i love them, so interesting.. about the only things i read these days. Might look for some more to read. Alan sugars book is proper interesting, the way he worked his way up from nothing etc

Wanna hear a track am working on, tis progressing

The Alan Sugar book is a great read. Got a bit bored toward the football part but the first half was really interesting.

What are you using to make tunes Dan?

Was thinking the same about myself Scotch seeing as my post was just above that...

I'm happy to hear of this new direction in your life. You sound quite positive and so you should be my lovely. If ever you need to off load there are many here you can turn to, myself included xxx <3

PS, Spill, what the fuck was that post about Dan?? C'mon....

Loved Richard Branson n Nelson Mandela books but my favourite of all time was Frank McCourt because of his writing style. I chose to re-sit GCSE Engish (because our teacher was crap n i ended up with an E, glad I did because I got a C). We were given an extract of his writing to study n from then I vowed to read his books n did so. Best autobiographies ever. Was emotion for weeks after.

I find autobiographies interesting, i have read a Madonnas (biography -the shittiest waste of ma life) and a quite a few ones that i didn't like. Two that might have been 'hot-stuff' as he died

^ Yep. I doubt most of those z-list celabrities could string a coherent sentence together on their own. I do like the odd autobiography now and again, but pretty much all of them need to be taken with a huge grain of salt. Biographies written with or without the involvement of the subject are usually much more truthful and interesting.

Morning, fanny guzzlers.
