The venue dear god now were talking! I never attended the original Afterdark, Afterdark 2 yes but it just gradually got terrible.

@englandz I know south shields reasonably well mate, I'm from walker (I know :() I've never really been on a 'night out' there though. Glad there's at least a sand dancer on here :)

YAY people are up!!!!!!!!!!! Hey I don't do the rota at work!!! ya works what ya needs ta works! It'll be a 5/6am bed time for me. Thats all well and good for tomorrow as I'm another late shift but that 7AM wake up call on monday is gonna ream me!!!!!!!!!
 
You and me both. I have the fear for Monday morning. I have to teach fucking sulky, sleep depressed teenagers at 8. Oh dear...to the fear.

I have to be tired and work a 9 hour shift serving fucktards Not as grand of a profession but it pays the bills!!! Oddly enough, I love my job......
 
Haha likewise. It's a cruel, twisted strange fate, but once I'm there in front of them all and doing it then it's all grand. Love teaching. Nothing can bring me down after this evening's pleasantries however :)
 
I have family that are teachers. Some here some back in the states... They do love it. I always wanted to be a teacher but then I heard of the horror stories...... Shite kids that just break your heart or make you want to tear theirs out. NAH!!!!!!!! It's not an easy job!!! Not by any measure!!!!
 
Yeah I would never teach secondary in the UK or US. Where I am the student's are very respectable to their teachers, but the added bonus of me being the native English speaker I get the 'cool' factor where everyone is generally curious of me so lessons go fairly well. Actually, some of my old students who are now in Uni etc even come to meet me for a beer on the odd occasion, so it's nice that way. Obviously there are downfalls, like the younger ones who don't give a fuck and are too young to appreciate what the opportunity they have, but meh, their problem. I try, it's my job and if they don't like it, or adjust then it's their problem. It's the job it is :)
 
You sound a bit like my cousin. She teaches in california. A bunch of cheeky wee sods but she does get through. She even had a mention in a pretty decent rap vid from one of her former students. Because we FB I see all the great things her former students have to say. They really do love her. She must be a great teacher. As one who loves to learn I can tell you nothing shapes a mind better than a great teacher. You must be doing something right!!!!!!

What horrible work is keeping you up at these silly hours?
 
I currently work in my fav field and oddly enough my most hated. The cuntstomer service industry. Long hours on your feet. Nae food or breaks for hours but some how it pleases me!!!!! Its a fantastic job. One I love. Not as meaningful as yours but I love it all the same. I am a bartender, waiter, cheffy type person I am what I need to be on any given day.
 
IN my line of work we tend to keep odd hours and either drink to excess, smoke to excess or do both. Mine is, this evening, the former.............
