Pretty shit night again and looks like the day won't be much better. As soon as I went to bed last night I got sleep paralysis for the first time ever which felt like it lasted half the night, then actually slept properly but had weird/terrifying dreams until I woke up a couple of hours ago feeling more exhausted than I did before I went to bed. Feel dazed and sad and ignored, need a hug and some drugs but looks like neither are going to happen so blahhh.

Looks like neither a proper sleep or a hug are on the menu based on the last few days. There's a chance I'll have to be getting up at half 5 tomorrow morning as well so I'm going to be even more shattered. Boo. Not a happy Monday.

Surely all embedded music earns an infraction? Or do we pic and choose who to apply the rules to now?

It's a rule we try to be as lenient as possible with and - in almost all cases - a simple polite warning is enough to stop people spamming in threads they shouldn't be spamming. Unfortunatly, sometimes it is necessary to be a little firmer because - for whatever reason - people sometimes forget that rules is rules, they apply to everybody, and ultimately will be enforced if necessary. I can assure you that none of us wants to be dishing out actual infractions for what may be seen as a relatively minor transgression but - when it comes down to it - we can't let the actions of somebody on a music embed spamfest make using the forum a massive pain in the arse for others. Excessive vidembeds clog the fuck out of the forum and just make it a cunt to use so anybody with a penchant for embedding stuff will just have to learn to use the designated thread(s) or stick with plain linkies like everybody else does.

Nope. Seems like a pretty reasonable compromise to me really. BL has a higher profile than it ever used to and given the state of the Lounge sometimes it just doesn't reflect well on the rest of the place. Given BL's ever more "corporate" aspirations the other options were to heavily restrict those cherished Lounge traditions of endlessly repetetive use of homophobic and racist language and general abuse for the sake of abuse (this option does not please the Rats surprisingly enough) or to simply remove the forum completely. Making it opt-in is somewhat akin to keeping the retarded cousin locked in the cellar but is probably kinder than euthanasia.
