Afternoon all, well I had some fun in London and in actual fact really was rather refrained on the drugs front..it's the London germs that got me and have been in bed several days with a god awful chest infection. Happy belated birthday Shambles....so sorry I missed it. I am so desperate just to sleep this thing off that have hit the diclazepam...had them about a year but was a little worried after some stories I heard but quite frankly blacking out for a day or so at a time is what I need right now.

Na-night blue lovelies off back to recuperate..must be well by next week have a lot going on.

He's just submitted his thesis towards his PhD in molecular biology a couple hours ago after years and years of insanely hard work...

And I got accepted to the 5 unis I applied to for my MA/MSc! Edinburgh, Durham, Exeter, Manchester and Warwick. Feels fucking good for both of us
(btw if anyone has any suggestions or opinions as to which uni may be best (this is for either a Translation or Publishing program), that'd be helpful).

The amount of deaths on this particular forum speaks volumes.

This is something that rather bugs me but is also obviously a very sensitive topic so I don't tend to bring it up but... In all the time I've been on BL there have been fewer deaths in EADD than I saw in a single average year when I was living my distinctly non-HR junky life. Yes heroin users do tend to die at a higher rate than yer average drug user but we have plenty peeps here who use heroin so it's not just that. There are surely many factors but the one that is unavoidable is that people who spend time on a HR forum absorb HR information by osmosis even if they don't do much to seek it out. People who take drugs with little or no HR information die a lot more regularly.

Hahah, funnily enough my one incentive not to go to Edinburgh is the food
There's something about eating intestines and stomachs that just kinda puts me off
(although mrcientist promises he'll change my mind).
Edinburgh's my first choice so far though as I've only heard wonderful things about it - just waiting to hear on UCL before making my final choice.

Also we're fucking off to Oz in a few months so all these plans will be at least deferred by a year...or a life.

mrcientist really, really deserves the big congratulations here though because he's been through a hell of a lot writing this thesis (aMT overdose/heart stopping), losing laptop with lots of unsaved data on it, vague PTSD following the accident, another hospitalization...and yet he still got it done. Couldn't be prouder
