The company im working alongside with just phoned their lads and told them that they've gone bust. They're all clearing their tools off site right now, feel really sorry for them just before Christmas and out of work. Not a good time to be looking for a new start

Good morning.

Wait, that's not right... good afternoon? I woke up with a rough stomach ache after having a pretty awful sleep. If that wasn't bad enough, in the process of slicing my morning bagel in half I almost sliced my finger off as well resulting in a surprising amount of blood. Due to my general rough feeling and the fact that I hadn't eaten yet this made me go very very lightheaded. As I walked upstairs to get a plaster I fell into my door and almost knocked myself out, then almost fainted anyway and had to lie down, leaving my poor bagel waiting in the toaster.

I give up on today I think, doesn't look as though luck is on my side. I'm scared to leave the house, at this rate I'll probably get hit by a bus or something. Bed and Supernatural looks like the safest option.

Not at all. Feel for them, I do.

I was half-expecting our place to be laying people off before Christmas, but they only did so with agency staff in warehousing / production. We've had a reasonable couple of months and meanwhile, I've reached ten years' service, which means I'm due the maximum redundancy payout I'd have received anyhow, even had I worked here 25 years, like some of my colleagues have.

Still, hope some of those guys manage to snag something.

Having a cold is miserable, but it's a good excuse for the judicious use of whiskey and hard drugs, I'll say that much.

Can I buy your cold off you for a fiver? Just so's I can get a guilt-free bottle on the way home this evening? :D
