Gibberings CLXXXI - Is it Christmas yet?

@allein

i used to be a bedroom spinner in 94/95 and recorded a practiced 60 set onto minidisc and if we got to stoned on the pirate stations we wud chuck that on his or mine.
I have a few original tapes and vinyls dating from '88-'89 love em just dont think pc's and technology was a bit primitive thats all. I started making my own rave tracks with scream tracker 3 in 94 on PC having attended the irish school of music frm then i could read sheet music so i had an advantage. Still have dem few tracks backed up rather proud of a few of them :) i loved the 90's

neway enuff bragging and reminissing for now :->
will leave it there.
Peace

That's not dirty... that statutory rape. :p

Then there'll be those who'll say the best time to have had your youth was 76-78 or 66-69 . It would be quite handy to have a time travel machine that could not only time travel but also deduct 25 years off your life, and then we could all experience all the eras and scenes first hand, at the peak of our youths when everything was exciting and anything seemed possible. You can get away with so much more in your late teens / early twenties than you can as middle age dawns upon you.

Yup. Would be rather handy... for my Dad that was 1960 to 1975... sure that must have been a great time to be that age. I'd kill to go to Woodstock... :D

I don't know, I worked the hardest in my life aged 15-25. If I wasn't being driven to the point of spewing blood in the gym or rugby field, I was studying into the early hours of the next morning for exams.

The underground warehouse raves of the early 90's were pretty cool at the time, but I was paying over $50 for a single pill. Now days I have access to better drugs, on call via smart phone while I sit on a leather sofa in a fancy bar over looking the water, while professional burlesque performers entertain me and my friends. I can use that same phone to uber a private driver withn 4 minutes and continue the party back at home.

I might not be able to call in a sickie as easily Monday morning, but work pays me to party every where from New York to colombia to Barcelona next year. I'm with axl rose, yesterday has got nothing for me.

The best time you'll have in your you will almost certainly be between the ages of 15-25 ;) %)

yes, definately. Though i did reach a sort of quiet contetedness in my mid 30s, but soon began to feel that things and myself were becoming rather dull, so i got back on the roller-coaster, for better or for worse. There has been more drama than i anticipated, but i guess that goes with the territory.

For some life gets better as they mature, for others they'll always be pining for the lost glory days of their youth, "the wink in the young girls eye" and all that sort of stuff. I coasted through my youth, i didnt need to work hard at anything to do well enough in a number of different "arenas", perhaps thats why im struggling now, when things suddenly havent been coming easily for the last couple of years or so.

It's not just that. Video games were lame in the 90's, music will always be better back in the day, but i can stream any song at anytime from my phone. I wouldn't change anything else from the current age. I can't name one classic car from the early nineties that I'd want, there was just as much turmoil from the Middle east, there was shit sport coverage compared to 24/7 access we have today and even the variety of restaurant food was pathetic compared to today's multicultural society.

But you must have had the hard work ethic drilled into you from an early age? Despite my parents best efforts im not quite sure if they succeeded in that with me. Once i build up some momentum, energy starts flowing, but when the momentum gets stopped its fucking hard to get going again.

Thanks for all your replies to my most recent post, they really helped a lot <3

Going to keep this short and sweet but I've decided I need a break from drugs and I'm going to stick to the demon drink from now on. And to make it a bit easier I'm deleting my BL account. Thanks to everyone who's been a friend to me on here and especially those who have helped me through hard times, I don't think I could find that support in real life.

Much love,

Ah shit I can't close my account why did nobody tell me this.

What does it take to get myself a permanent ban?

sorry to see you go, but if its for the best then i wish you well.

You can get banned by accruing multiple infractions by breaking many of the BLUA rules. (posting abusive mesages, offering to sell or trying to source drugs) its quite a long process to get permaneently banned.

Offer some drugs.. ;)

Alternatively scramble your password so you cant remember it.

Can i ask why you feel the need to leave though? Triggering?

You do realise Sams going to be heartbroken... :(;)
