Fuck I've defended a pub chain and I don't even drink :D

I don't believe that 'business' and 'money' are where a decent future lies for the world but withing the systems that are in place I'd hardly call out a pub chain selling cheap drinks to underpaid people.

I quite enjoy the fact that Tesco are floundering whilst shopping at Aldi has become so sheike

I like wetherspoons, excellent value, couldn't spend the whole night there though, good for a few hours. quite like starting the night in spoons then moving to a place with music etc

Well said. and likewise

Haven't been to a Wetherspoon's in years. The ones around here tend to attract the hardcore alcoholics and pissed-up casual-shirted lads from the mill towns, which doesn't help matters. I also find them a little bit soulless, and the range of beers is pretty limited compared to some of the places I frequent.

Just my preference though. I'm sure there are some which are nicer, and in many places there isn't too much choice anyhow.

Good to see you back here, anyway. Hope all is well :)

King Camp

Things are ok I spose, well there good. I just need to get a Job because I have been out of work for a couple of months( Tech Support and acid don't mix). I need to pull my finger out really, but I have been loving doing fuck all bar crazy antics for a couple of months. The antics have stopped now anyway, I have stopped drinking, and started playing World of Warcraft again, because its sick like. :)

When I used to work nights we would queue up outside at 8am on a pay day with the regulars. Usually got booted out by about 4 oclock in the afternoon for being absolutely shitfaced while people were coming in for a late lunch.

Yeah, the early morning regulars are something to behold.

The Piccadilly Wetherspoon's toilets used to be tooting / digging central until they clocked the fact some time in the early-to-mid-2000s. Probably cottaging too, though I was never that lucky.

I only go in Witherspoon's in the daytime around 11am, and like Sammy said it's packed with the hard core piss heads all sat in the very same seats. We joke that the fuckers never leave, they all have there little booklets for 30p off each pint and sit sipping all day.
Fuck knows how half of them afford it.

Yeah, strange you get given a little piece of paper with a code on now when trying to use the toilets in any of them places in picadilly if you are buying/eating there, the weatherspoons right outside picadilly is actually at its most busiest between when its open and lunchtime, surprisingly quiet later on in the day/night.

Sammy do you like teen porn?

Is this a trick question? :D

Yeah, we used to drink (usually for free) in the Goose (now called the Piccadilly) as well as the 'spoons, and the toilets in there were just as sordid. Good times.

Hah, aye. I've been in the Moon Under Water a few times and survived.. the best Wetherspoons is the one in Chorlton that's an old temperance building, though.

Yeah, that's a different class of 'spoons. But with the Marble Beer House just a short walk away, it's never been one of my haunts. Lovely building though.

...I think that was wholeheartedly a YES!, Housey. (Although I think anyone could have guessed that..)
