Gibberings CLXXI: No Twattery Allowed - Waiting on Raas's Call

I think I'm onto something staying in Uni halls... Not only is it cheap but there appear to be a few international students still here over the summer.

Wish I had more free nights here. :p
 
Still in halls? I couldn't have stayed even if I'd wanted to, my contract finishes this week sometime. Guess you can get it extended though maybe because our 2 international guys were still around when I moved my stuff out yesterday. Dunno. I'm not really sure what I'm talking about tbh.

How are you able to stay there over the summer?

I went to a few residential schools (Warwick and Sussex university) with the Open University. And those days were the best. We'd stay for like, sussex - a week and Warwick 2 weekends, have so much work to do from 7 am until 10 pm each day - but we'd get the drinking in was ace. The last time, I was pregnant so got what they called an "en-suite," basically had a shower in the one, I thought I'd died in gone to heave (OK a SLIIIIGHT exaggeration) but loved those times....

Sorry gone off on a tagent..... was hot today, worked hard in the garden so got some bottles of wine....... plus I quit my recovery group so I'm celebrating!

BRB - Right puck a load of raspberries earlier (off my raspberry bush that I've left like grow half way across the garden n it's NOT a small garden either, ah well) so bought some blackberries n blueberries - so gna stick the lot in the bowl, put some honey in n put crumble mix over the lot... yum.... Maybe I'll pick some plums too.

I applied to Warwick uni, got an offer as well and probably should have gone there because it's like, the best uni in the country for my course but I'd had my heart set on Birmingham for ages so just stuck with there. Don't think I'd have enjoyed Warwick as much anyway, I like being in the middle of a city as I'm so big into clubbing and shopping. Wish I'd have had an en suite in halls but Birmingham accomodation is pisstakingly expensive anyway, mine was 4.5k-ish and it was about a grand more for en suite. You can get halls for 3.5k there as the cheapest I think but I don't think I could stand living somewhere shit, I like space.
 
Halls was wicked for a year - for making mates and that, but I don't think I could have lasted longer. I had to move rooms anyway because I'd somehow been landed on the bible bashers corridor. I was a filthy heathen in their eyes.

I think the final straw came on Bad Taste night at the halls, which fell just after the first anniversary of September the 11th. I went as Osama Bin Liner - which was a cheap costume to improvise, if nothing else. The god squad even confronted me about it being in 'poor taste' =D

My home town is just down the road from Warwick Uni and I think you definitely made the right decision - you're stranded on campus and, if you're feeling brave, you've got the choice between Leamington Spa and Coventry, both of which are shit to go out in (for different reasons).
 
yea I only went for the weekend. Warwick was like a village as are most of these unis LOL. When I went for my Masters at Chester I was like where the f do I go? There's that many freaking buildings.

Speaking of Birmingham I'm not used to city life and when I went with my ex to Birmingham, ready to go on the train to Sussex uni, well that was a completely different world to me. Birmingham train station was fkn scarily HUUUUUUGE and Houston train station was scarily huuuuuge worst still. I remember going on the underground, scared out of my nut - but my goodness it's warm going down there.... but loved it, loved travelling on trains to different places n stuff! I miss that life.
Nothing more freer than going on the train, being on your own, in your own world travelling, going on an adventure....

One day I will most DEFINATELY do that again...

Well then... apparently I was asleep online earlier 8( I can't really remember coming home so ...IF I have been talking to you in the last few hours either ignore me or forgive me :D ('woke up' asked what we were having for lunch - [pretending I knew where I was], was told we had been out for lunch ... LOL Had two, Black n Beauty. Black died November 26 - so now only have Beauty. Black was cuddled up to me all night, woke up next morning - she was dead.
My brother loves hot curries. Personally - I prefer a korma. I sponsor two cats for a tenner a month at Cat's Protection.
