Gibberings CLXXI: No Twattery Allowed - Waiting on Raas's Call

Was it not insured? Claim the insurance, buy a new one. Easy.

Yes it was insured but I had a mahoosive excess on it and when you claim you have that and the rest of the year's premiums taken off the figure you receive. This was a while ago now anyway and just trying to get that money out of them was hard enough. The insurance on it was ridiculous as well so once the premiums and the excess were added together the figure I got back was about £1500 short. Other than the Aprilla rs125 which you need a full licence for it's about the fastest 125 you can buy so insurance is silly if you're just on a cbt.

When is the methoxphenidine price gonna drop, and when are some actually enjoyable legal drugs going to be available? Man I'm sweating.

I really wouldn't hold your breath. I'm sure something decent will come along eventually but one thing is for sure... it won't stay around for long.

You on 2-MeO-Diphendine right now? I found it a bit of a waste of time/money IMO... I just felt warm with a mild mood lift, then I puked & got an introspective clearheaded phase.

methoxphenidine is really useful for me for motivation and confidence, and doesn't make me look like I'm on drugs.

Oh aye, I forgot about the fucking excess. Brutal man.

I remember them, loads of people at school used to rip into school on em, remember an old mate rode his pissed and smashed it up. shortly after starting work i worked with a guy who had a twist and go 125 scooter and ended up in a ditch with it and fucked it up

Aprilla rs125's are quite expensive, think they're about £5k. They develop 25bhp or somethink massive for a 125 like that if they're completely derestricted, it's more like riding a 250 in terms of power. You definitely need a full bike licence for them if they're not restricted, they blast away basically anything else at 125cc.

The KTM was a one down five up iirc, so as long as you were hot on the gear changes it used to absolutely blast to it's top speed. There weren't many places in London I could top it out even at like 2am though. I almost ended up crashing it a few times, luckily it's got shit hot brakes.

It's fucking scorching here. Want to go down the park but its been infested by some shitey seeming festival. No idea what it is, but judging by the crowds, I'm willing to bet Tiny Tempah is playing.

When did they bring that in mate? A friend had a brand new Rs125 and the garage deretricted it and never said anything about having a full license, guess they don't have to say anything? I know that on a cbt if 16 you can only ride a 50cc which must be restricted to 30mph but once you are 17 you can ride any 125 regardless of power. They have prob changed it by limiting what the bhp can be.

Wicked bike anyway, does 100mph easy but you do notice lack of torque when going up hills compared to bigger bikes. You do need to keep those beasts fully maintained though, my friend spent a couple of grand on it within a year as parts are stupidly expensive. I miss the smell of hot 2 stroke engines.

Yeah they're fine on a cbt and are probably as fast as most 125s, the rs125 you definitely need a full licence for though otherwise I would have had one.

It's been that way for ages, there's definitely a limit on the BHP a 125cc is allowed to develop if you are riding it on a cbt. The rs125 unrestricted breaks it by a long way, as you say it will top 100mph in factory trim.

I imagine he bought it and insured it in restricted format and then the garage just didn't check when they derestricted it. None of their business looking in to clients insurance details and licence status if someone turns up asking for work on their bike really.

Oh, and I think the rs125 is four stroke, my ktm was.

Ah makes sense. I think cbt's only last 2 years now, is that right? I would of loved to do my full bike license but that's a distant dream now. I think the Rs125 is def 2 stroke as I spent a lot of time chasing it down country lanes on a Honda cb125. Motorbikes are great fun but uber dangerous, I had a 70mph crash and it hurt.

You can do your full license on a 250 but you have to ride a 250 for the 1st year or 2 then you can ride anything. You could always do the test on a 400 then you can ride what you want straight away, unless they have changed it which they prob have.

1st bike i ever rode at 11 was a BSA Bantam 125 around a quarry near bristol - then after an hour they put me on a Husquvana(sp) 400, which was a wee bit irresponsible as some of the track was 100's of feet up.....held on for dear life, did 2 unintentional wheelies and thanked the lord when i got back to the start.
IN LOndon I had a Yamaha XT500 which i could just about reach the road on tippy toes (I'm 5 10') and it was almost impossible not to pop a wheelie when pulling away, use to scare the shit out of me as it was so fast so i got an XT250 instead which if anything was even worse (in a good way) Loved that bike but had so many near misses with cars not looking then a mate borrowed it and trashed it after a car knocked him off (had steel rod and pins etc in his lower leg) not had a bike since but as im close to the countryside now , i do get pangs of wishing to get another bike but the missus won't entertain the idea :(

Sounds like wicked fun

I love seeing/hearing bikes rip it past when im driving along, if i hear em coming i always pull right in n get a thumbs up from them as they rip it. been on a few and its like being on a rocket or something

My dad rode his bike pissed when he was a bit older than me and smashed all his teeth out, silly bellend

I went to Knockhill with my Dad to see the Superbikes once... was pretty fun day out.

An F1 car did a couple of laps at the end & I've got to say... why on earth would anyone want to listen to that racket. Bikes are much better sounding.

Which reminds me of an amusing story... I was with my Dad who was driving his Triumph Stag, which can be quite loud what with the V8 engine. Well, he pulled out & put his foot down, as he often does just to show off, and the police who were watching all this pulled us over claiming we were speeding. He had never gone over 30mph... we guessed it was the noise that made them pull us over. 8)

Yeah I'm out of cbt because I didn't do the one day renewal. Tbh I'm not likely to get a full bike licence because I know I'll end up having a massive crash if I get a fast bike because I'm an idiot and can't help rinsing it. AFAIK you can ride a 125 on car driving licence??? If that's correct I'll just sort my driving licence out and get another fast 125 of some sort. 80mph is all good for a city bike and with something like the ktm if you remove the 125 insignia and L-plates you can use the motorway because it looks like a bigger bike. Although you got ANPR that can catch you these days.
