My dad died not so long ago, and while I loved him to death and miss him like you wouldn't believe, I could talk about his faults for an hour.

But this is different - it's on an Internet forum where his friends and family could be watching. Would it be fair for them to see people discussing his faults?

To me there's a difference between discussing his personal life/death and discussing how his moderating techniques affected EADD and how stuff may need to change now he is no longer here to enforce them and we have an entirely new mod team. Everyone's open to their opinion but yeah it could be helpful in moving on from all this, analysing how things were and how things now need to change.

I'm sort of a fan of the IDEA of not UAing posts so people see WHY people get infracted but then it also contributes to the drama.
 
Things evolve. What knock implemented at the time may have been right for the forum but that does not necessarily mean they are right for the forum now. I dont see how discussing changing ideas implemented by someone who is no longer here is in bad taste or disrespectful.

When you put it like that, you have a point and I apologise. Yes things do need to evolve, with everything in life and what worked then may not work now. I think I misinterpreted and felt like people were finding fault with his ideas and moderating. Looks likes I was wrong, Sorry!
