I don't use it except for when I text 'I just went for an epic shit' to my mate because fuck her she needs to know

I have a joke.

What's worse than the aussie medical system?
Nothing.

Aha.
Hilarious. Had a seizure and they told me I was fine. Fucking dicks, I tried to OD on 200mg escitalorapm last week and I'm now WD like crazy and apparently that just counts as me being 'a little stressed'. Fucking assholes.

As much as I love Australia I gotta say no one's got anything on UK/France medicare.

Hang on a second. Weren't you complaining recently about the UK medical system and how shoddy they are, after you OD'd on various chemicals and how they treated you contemptuously?

Could it be that the medical staff - in all parts of the world - are rightfully frustrated with people who are admitted because they recklessly take drugs, when there are genuine people with medical problems beyond their control which they could be helping?

[Edit: Might sound a bit harsh, sorry, but it appeared to make sense on the first visit at least]

And what do you mean by "I tried to OD on..." are you saying this was a suicide attempt?

You're living in beautiful Australia, you're engaged and going to these wonderful beaches and have all the wonderful bakini pics to prove it.......... And you're going to kill yourself!? I must be missing something...

@ Raas, NHS aren't particularly sympathetic toward selfharm/OD patients, speaking from experience (note that's not all of them, some have been amazing). No doubt the nurses and doctors etc get frustrated. It's not a pleasant experience for either party, IMO.

Can't speak for Aus or France.

AND, although Raas hasn't exactly put it how I would, he does (no one quote me on this ;)) have a point. I know shit gets hard and oh god the amount of times I've done shit like that but you'll be ok or else. Doesn't sound like a nice experience at all though so I really hope you pick up from it fast <3

Related sort of.

Why do the NHS operate double standards... the Doctors are required to be courteous & have a good bedside manner yet many Nurses are opinionated & have a stick shoved up their ass.

They've always treated me like the scum of the earth when I've been in relating to drugs. I was polite & told them everything they wanted to know but it made no difference. I sympathise they might get bored of dealing with drunks & drug users but they shouldn't judge people like that.

Is a very mixed bag when it comes to matters of self-harm of any sort in my experience. Totally depends on which particular nurses and doctors you see. Same night in the same hospital I've been more or less told to fuck off and deal with it myself and minutes later spoke to somebody else who was very concerned and gave me a bed for the night to speak with the psychiatrist in the morning. It's been a long time since I needed hospital treatment for owt like that but I just wouldn't take no for an answer cos I knew how much worse it would be if I did. When one night nurse gave me the brush off I'd wait til another came along and speak to them instead. When it comes down to it, if you're bleeding profusely or have taken a potentially serious OD you require treatment. It's a shame some folk have a snotty attitude about it but don't totally blame them. They could do with better training in dealing with patients though.

Yeah :\ I been to A&E near my parents once to be stitched up and they just gave me evils the entire time. Yes I know it's my fault, yes I feel stupid as FUCK, so please don't make me feel worse.

Then again I been more recently to the general hospital near me now and they were fucking brilliant. Depends I suppose. Seems worse if you're in pain, in whatever fashion.

Really hope you doin alright Pagey, that sounds a nightmare :(

I had the opposite experience - the nurses were actually ok, but there was this one doctor who decided to keep me in for another night and spoke to me like a piece of dirt, despite my being very contrite about the whole thing. It was her attitude that made me, unsuccessfully, try and discharge myself. I do understand it, but it's not helpful. Getting guilt heaped upon you isn't exactly going to help with your recovery.

Luckily, I was seen by a lot more understanding doc in the morning, who was basically like "we all make mistakes, just don't be turning up here every weekend".

Trippy street art... loves it

Loads of it round here, just an example of something on a BIIIG scale:
