Gibberings CLXV - Reported for being racist against drugged up clowns

Are you seriously arguing that Scotland won't have a military? I was completely joking with that post because "You won't even have any tanks" was such a ludicrous statement.

Where will your military come from, given that it is controlled by the crown and is paid for through the UK government?

Just tick the HC2 exemption certificate box and be done with it.

Got to admit I feel a little guilty about doing this as it goes against my principles but I've started doing it now I can't suddenly admit I've been lying all along.
I get free prescriptions currently but when i was paying for them it worked out a fair bit over the course of a year. Isn't it also £8 per different item on the prescription?

They are. So is university. That bedroom tax shite doesn't affect us either. Like I said, we are doing a bit better despite Westminster. I want to see what we can do without them being in the picture at all.

I don't mean any offence but you aren't seeing the bigger picture, Westminster does more good for Scotland than bad... simply getting more devolved powers is the way forward & I suspect the expected outcome for those in the know at the SNP.

We studied Devolution as part of my honours Government & Law course... we discussed this stuff a fair bit years ago.

Don't blame you for wanting to see how you get on without Westminster. I don't know if enough of your people will feel the sameway though, certainly going to be very interesting to see what happens

Our military will come from the UKs military. Same as our roads will come from the UKs roads. Our airports will come from the UKs airports. You don't just pack up everything with a reference to the queen in it's name and take it away lol.

Do you genuinely think after the election England will just take every soldier, every piece of equipment, the full whack and... do what with it all?

What good do you think Westminster does that Scotland isn't capable of doing on it's own? Serious question, I'd be interested to know.

And, why do you think we would get more devolution? I think, I might be wrong, that some of the main parties have even specifically stated that that won't happen (could be remembering that wrong though).

Sadly I think you're right. Which is why I'm learning German the now lol. I don't want to be part of the UK, I'm hoping I can achieve that without moving house.

Why is the queen's army going to remain to serve a country that isn't hers? Of course it's all going to pack up and come back to her sovereign territory.

You pay for each individual item yes, afaik you'll never have multiple items on one prescription.

Surely they'll be some agreement in place?

The reality of the situation is that this is most likely, I was just playing devil's advocate. None of the important stuff like the nuclear subs will remain there though, I will nail my nutsack to the table and post it on BL if that happens.

Why would the country not be the queens after independence? I don't think you understand how this is supposed to work.

Obviously I hope that we do eventually patch the fuckers. I don't think it will happen till old Lizzy dies though. Hopefully there will be no King Charles for Scotland, but for the time being there will still be a queen.

It is only the UK government that wants the subs to remain at Faslane. Like I said earlier, that was one of the main points of the independence campaign - get the nukes out of Scotland. So you won't need to nail your baws to the table.

Does the queen control Australia's army? Does she pack up all their helicopters and take them away because they're not in a political union with England?

We are voting for independence of the Westminster government. Full political control to Scotland. We are not voting to ditch the monarchy (in my opinion we should be, but at the moment we're not).

I'll admit that I'm not following the debate very closely etc. That was what the case was years ago. I think you will find that a strong Yes Vote that fails will pressurize Westminster into acknowledging that the Scottish people want further devolution so that policy can reflect us.

The benefits we receive from the status of the UK in the business world, which largely revolves around London. There are also the ties to the US. Then there is the question of Scotland's status in the EU - it might not happen immediately & we gain a lot from it. Then there is the Military... you are kidding yourself if you think that the Scottish military will have the clout that the British Army has. Scotland will no longer build ships for the Navy...

Those are just a few.

I don't want the Scottish military to have the "clout" of the British military. Look at what that clouts done over the past 20 years or so.

We don't need an army big enough and strong enough to travel half way round the world to murder some poor fuckers for fuck knows what real reason.

Business status etc, aye fair enough. I think you're correct there. A price I'm willing to pay.

I think a failed independence vote means we're fucked re more devolution. We've just voted for the status quo, why would they then give us more control? I don't think any country has ever voted against it's own independence - if we do we're basically voting for London rule.

They may not have the same clout but at least you could choose if you want them going to war somewhere or not.

Limmy's patters been great about independence.

Come 2014, Scotland will say WE ARE INCAPABLE OF THINKING, PLEASE RULE US FROM LONDON. YOU ARE WISER. YOU ARE WISER.

She's right. We have no guarantee Scotland will be better independent. It's best to stay ruled by London, just in case.

I shudder to think of Scotland governed by people who live here, rather than the Tories in London. Please vote no. #ToryRule

I hate what the SNP have done to this country. Free prescriptions, free eldery care, gay/straight people MORE EQUAL THAN EVER. #sadface

Spot on.
