Gibberings CLXV - Reported for being racist against drugged up clowns

Where will these tanks come from, given that your entire defence forces belong to the queen and will be returning to the UK if you break from the UK?

...and the very first government will have been exposed as hypocrits going against their core principle that got them in to power as a sovereign nation.

...and if you do have magically have tanks from somewhere you think the rest of the world is going to stand by and let that happen?

Anyway, like I said in the first place, it's certainly going to be interesting for an outsider looking in if you do split. I would be fucking concerned about it if I lived it Scotland though. I mean I first started visiting 13 years ago and they were starting to build the tram system in Edinburgh, all these years later I still haven't seen a single one of the fuckers running.

Oh right. We'll just give you 100% of the military then. We'll keep enough tanks to fuck up some sheep herders if they try and get ideas. Might keep one of those trident fuckers as well, just in case the rest of the world tries to wade in.

Who gives a fuck about trams in Edinburgh? Your government spunks mad amounts of money up the wall on a daily basis. Or it gives it to bankers.

Fucking hell. Think about what you've just wrote.

I shall re-word that... the logistics of independence are ridiculous.

We are all entitled to our opinions though & mine is that going independent is a step backwards for Scotland, at least in the short to mid-term. I'm not saying independence couldn't work but it would take time. As I said, I also think we are as much British as we are Scottish.

Consider this... the United States has been in existence for 238 years... Scotland has been part of the United Kingdom for 307 years. Why are people so willing to throw away 307 years of ties just to be Scottish? Scotland didn't develop it's national identity properly until after the Act of Union... Scotland's history pretty much amounts to different Tribes & Clans killing each other, in the case of the latter because of ties with England pre-Union.

We are already Scottish & we are not getting a raw deal by being part of the United Kingdom, quite the opposite. I think further devolution is the way forward, that way we can get the increased powers & control our policies more without losing all we have gained by being part of the United Kingdom.

I really fail to see how becoming independent will make us better off in terms of Healthcare & Economy... I'm sure that there will be a change in policy focus that might suit many people but at best the economic climate will remain the same & more likely, it will get worse before it could get better. The best way I can highlight this is what happened when the SNP were elected they froze council tax & did lots of things that their support thought was great but guess what... they ran out of money for local services & now things are bad in different ways.

I fear that a large part of the Yes Vote are very uninformed... the whole Braveheart mentality and the likes. It certainly seemed that way from some of the listener debates about it on Radio Scotland or whatever I happened to overhear. Clearly there are well informed folk here but still...

One of the biggest unresolved issues is the currency debate... they actually have no answer, they just say that Westminster will concede & allow us to keep the pound. Having to introduce a new currency really would be very difficult & could have a huge impact on the economy & may well put off many international businesses.

Seriously, let's just stay part of the Union & get more devolution...

There's absolutely no way we'll get more devolution.

I think a massive part of the No vote are very uninformed (the only good thing is I think a lot of them won't bother to vote). I was originally very dismissive of independence and would have voted No if at all, until I started to look into it more. Tbh I don't know anyone that truly cares about voting No. I know a lot of people who just want to stick with the way things are and haven't bothered their arse to look into it at all. I don't know anyone who passionately wants to vote against independence.

We already have better policies. We already have a slightly better society despite the Westminster government. You say you want more powers. Why would we not be better with all the power? Why go and tick that box that says "London knows best" in September? Makes no sense.

Do you like co-signing the UKs foreign policy? Wars in Iraq etc?

You're right about the currency thing. I think they've fucked that part of the campaign. They should just fucking tell us what they'll do if George Osbourne isn't telling lies. Fuck the pound, it doesn't matter that much imo. The unanswered question is a big hole in the campaign though.

You're wrong on more devolution. If we vote no we will not get given any more powers.

Err, it belongs to the queen, the clue's in the name...'royal scots guard' etc. It's not yours to give, she is ultimately the high commander of the military. If she says it comes back it comes back. You don't think the military will have been foolish enough to have installed anyone that they're not absolutely sure is loyal to the queen in any positions of power do you? The higher officer ranks are filled with those totally loyal to the queen and have been for hundreds of years, there's no chance of making it to a position of power unless you show anything except total devotion. Those subs and everything else will be stationed back in Portsmouth/Aldershot long before the actual split takes place.

Are prescriptions free in Scotland? Sure i read that somewhere. The price of our prescriptions seem to go up a couple of times each year, I think they are over £8 now

Are you seriously arguing that Scotland won't have a military? I was completely joking with that post because "You won't even have any tanks" was such a ludicrous statement. Of course those subs will get bounced. That's one of the major points of the independence campaign - get your nuclear missiles to fuck.

It's not like the queen's (who will still be our head of state for the time being anyway) army will have to defect to Scotland. Scotland will take a share of that military. We helped pay for it.

We probably won't need that much right enough. I can't see Scotland charging around the world murdering Muslims.

They are. So is university. That bedroom tax shite doesn't affect us either. Like I said, we are doing a bit better despite Westminster. I want to see what we can do without them being in the picture at all.

Just tick the HC2 exemption certificate box and be done with it.

Got to admit I feel a little guilty about doing this as it goes against my principles but I've started doing it now I can't suddenly admit I've been lying all along.
