That's their problem to deal with if they choose to go that way. Even though i live in England it still feels to me that everything is too centred around what affects London & how London is performing so fuck knows what it must feel like to the Scottish folk

We have a better voting system for a start. Our MPs can't use expenses to buy houses. It's illegal to lobby an MSP the way big tobacco, alcohol etc lobby your MPs. Your parliament is completely sold out, there are checks in place to try and stop ours becoming the same.

Racism lies far deeper than the surface of the comments, sometimes "white trash" is a retaliation from blacks who feel they are being victimised and bullied - for instance the Goody example quoted. And if Goody's comments are read by her family; it's quite different as she's a public figure. Discussion on public figures (dead or alive) is everywhere and I'm sure they accept this. I see your point of ill-spoken comments towards those who have passed isn't so respectful. Goody was not too popular, however. Just because it's "accepted" doesn't mean it's "right" and that we should add to it. It's accepted that gangs may use guns and shoot the hell out of one another does that mean I should go out, get a gun n start shooting anyone I detest? You, and a few others, are missing my point. Yes, I understand that there are semantic to the worded insults, however - in the respect that both words are used with the intention to harm the other; to show racism, to target; then it does not matter the difference in words but the mere fact that they are used - and the REASONING behind them being used.

Raas - just because GoS has a comment that is in disagreement to what you think / believe, doesn't make the comment ignorant. It makes you ignorant because you are disregarding because it differs to you.

What are you going to do if the Orkney and Shetland Isles seperatist movement decide they want independence and to join back with the UK? Given you will be ruled by a socialist government they will be kind of obliged to give them a referendum. If they split what is scotland left with?

Shetland don't need to. They were savvy enough to demand a tax per barrel back in the 70's. Which is why they have the best fucking roads in the UK and a free £400 handout per resident every xmas.

Shetland, which does not receive any of the oil production tax revenues but does receive payment for oil company use of some harbour facilities and land, has directly benefited from oil to the tune of about 1.7 billion pounds, according to figures provided by its council.

Some of the gains are invested in an oil fund which has generated a further 1 billion pounds. Most of this income has been reinvested in the local community and infrastructure, the council says.

Where will these tanks come from, given that your entire defence forces belong to the queen and will be returning to the UK if you break from the UK?

...and the very first government will have been exposed as hypocrits going against their core principle that got them in to power as a sovereign nation.

...and if you do have magically have tanks from somewhere you think the rest of the world is going to stand by and let that happen?



Anyway, like I said in the first place, it's certainly going to be interesting for an outsider looking in if you do split. I would be fucking concerned about it if I lived it Scotland though. I mean I first started visiting 13 years ago and they were starting to build the tram system in Edinburgh, all these years later I still haven't seen a single one of the fuckers running.
