If it were adversely affecting my productivity to come on here and make a few pithy remarks and dick jokes on company time then you'd have a point. The fact is it doesn't, so your only objection would appear to be a moral one, which just ain't good enough. Would you have bar staff stand and look solemn between pulling pints? Would you have checkout staff perfecting their barcode-scanning technique on a slow afternoon? What the fuck would you have the bingo caller do?

I'm not performing surgery, or any other duties which would require my full concentration at all times. If something needs to be done, it gets done promptly, and that's what matters to any decent employer. It helps if you're charming, sure, but don't hate me for that.

I understand it sounds bad if you're desperate for work, but I can guarantee that 99% of the people who are prepared to judge folk like me would do exactly the same given the opportunity. The other 1% are just out-and-out liars.

Don't be so hasty to judge when you're not in possession of the full facts! :)
 
My employer is stealing my fucking life by paying me an average wage. For sitting at a desk for 10+ hours a day, working my arse off. How the fuck is looking at BL at work stealing. Thats fucking ridiculous.

I saw it in The Office, US version, so it must be true

I see it as your duty to skive as much as possible. Don't get me wrong, I get my work done, but they seem to think it takes me 8 hours a day when in reality it takes about 2 max. It would be stupid of me to correct them.

I don't understand why you would expect someone to bust their arse for not much better than minimum wage, knowing that anything above and beyond the bare minimum doesn't affect their wages, yet probably does affect some rich fuckers dividends. I'm really quite surprised tbh. Different if we were talking about folk getting paid mega bucks, but I don't think we are.

In my last job, if I was 1 minute over my 15 minute break, managers and supervisors would be shouting at the staff room for me. Yet, I once looked at security camera's and saw them sitting in the office, munching crisps, socialising, reading newspapers for nearly 2 hours over their allotted tea break time.

What a load of shite that place was. Wasn't long before skiving became habitual. All corporate places I work in have been like this: hierarchical shite... where some cunt on 30,000 a year plus is taking the piss and getting you on miniumum wage to do all the shit for them.

I'm self employed now. Best thing I ever did.
 
I have a building full of minions who I take 20% of the profits from. Today I'll likely bill 20k before lunch and spend at least 2 hours drinking tea and piss farting around on the internet.

I worked hard when I was 17 so I could have the luxurious right to fuck around today.
