Gibberings CLXI: The Numerals are Probably Wrong, The Words Within Most Certainly Are

Now now Raas, if psychedelics are potentially the work of Satan, then certainly heroin is, no? Although I guess you never said you were against the work of Satan! ;)

Fox hunters are indeed cunts. Especially the posh English type on horses and fancy clothes and such! I've lost 3 chickens to a family of foxes the past two weeks. Raised these ladies from the egg, and an egg each they provide me daily. I am quite attached to em. But I don't go on and trap or shoot the foxes, they are doing there thing. I get up and lock the ladies in at night, and get up far too early to let them out. Simple enough!

I was a vegetarian for some time....now I only meat that I have raised. We do chickens, cattle, hogs, sheep, and goat. I know them all well, raise them, name them, feed them, sexually please them, you get the idea. But anyhow, they are treated well, as I'm there every step of the way. They only eat top notch stuff, all organic, no grain (waste of land, when you grow grass...wel, the pigs get corn as do the chickens), and are slaughtered in a humane fashion. No factory farming, excessive antibiotics, no BS. And even so, meat is still a rare presence on my table, once or twice a week....

I'd love to see mink, I know they are round here because some farmer type who regularly stops me for a chat (I wish he wouldn't) is always going on about how the mink have cleaned out his chickens and ducks. Really regularly goes on about it.

I have, however, seen a polecat. And that's rare as fuck apparently.

I will admit I haven't seen the mink, my parent's neighbour did, wee fuckers ate all his Koi, assume they were feeding from the fish farm before it closed down. He warned us cos of the rabbit tho that thing would probably put up a fair fight. Didn't know polecats were about, that's pretty cool. Also had no idea wallabies wander about wild either. There are some here tho not sure if captive or if they just reside in the park but there were definitely some in the forests in Derbyshire.

Amanitadine I bet your chicken eggs are lovely. We get ours from a friend who feeds them all organically and they're great. The difference between them and a supermarkets "free range" eggs is chalk and cheese. One of the best things about living where I do is an abundance of proper free range eggs at roughly half the price Tesco charge.

And yes Snolly, mink are notoriously ravenous and will eat just about anything. And they don't stop when they're full, they stop when everything has been eaten.

Polecat fact of the day. They rarely roam more than 500m or so from where they are born. Much like people in rural England and Wales then.

You know when you have a friend that you get on quite well with but want to punch them in the face repeatedly? Chatting to one on Facebook and after a few seconds the conversation always turns around to how he's still desperate for a girlfriend and then ignores any suggestions for getting one. Grar.

That sounds like (but may not be) lousy, wet, passive chat-up technique. I've witnessed it more than a few times, sometimes from guys whom I otherwise respect and get on with.

It inevitably fails, which tends to make it worse.

Nothing wrong with complaining about your lack of luck to a friend, but don't expect a sympathetic response once it becomes clear you're not willing to act on any advice that's offered.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's not as it's a guy I've known for about 5 years that I clearly have noooo interest in. I think he must just set his sights way too high as he's not had a girlfriend in that time. Either that or he really just enjoys whining and being miserable. 8)

Morning folks,

I know you guys are talking about fox hunting, morals etc. but I recently started having 3 vegetarian days a week, or there abouts. I actually really enjoy my meat free days but it's not something I could commit to fully & I couldn't be a vegan.

Btw, is there a "What are you eating now" / cookery thread? I'm sure there used to be one but I didn't find one last night... I didn't look very hard though.

I have a few vegetarian days per week also :) - when you find the cookery thread you will see my veggie curries etc.

Nothing wrong with a little whine and a bit of misery. Don't begrudge him that! :D

Perhaps he does set his standards 'too high', or maybe he just hasn't found anybody he feels comfortable with during that time. Some people don't.

Or maybe, just maybe he's been pining for you for most if not all of those five years. In which case just accept the bloody compliment and try not to get too annoyed with him if you can! As long as he doesn't come over all scary, which it doesn't really sound like he is. Though wet and scary often come within a hair's breadth of one another, as you probably know.
