A'ternoon, all
Just taking a break from replying to PMs. Yes, I am finally clearing my Inbox. Talk about Tasks of Hercules
Anybody owed a reply should be getting one today but it may spill over into tomorrow cos am gonna go on a shopwalk to hunt and gather some dins soon and may end up doing a lil light sofa/tellybox vegetating later on. Will try to get a few more PMs out the way first though. Once I've cleared all I can see need clearing I'm thinking I might just completely wipe my Inbox and start with a sparkling fresh clean one. I have a tendency to keep PMs - particularly those from people I'm especially close to or have sadly since died (now there's a tragic fact of EADD life for ya - that the latter is even a Thing

) - but that does mean I'm constantly near the limit and I have a rather roomy Inbox compared to most due to prior staff Inbox expansions. Would be nice to have a proper clear-out. Although will be tough deciding what to do with PMs from those no longer with us
i fixed it for you
night night.

Ooh! Thankee kindlee, sirrah
I'd still best change the Megathreads linky to the more recent Index (aka Where's the XXXX Thread?!?) despite the fact that ye olde megathreads page has some small sentimental value as it was the very first proper modjob that Felix set for me one of the first nights after I was modded first time around. He spotted I'd been at the peev that day so sorting, listing and comipiling a list of threads is just about ideal in such state of mind. Was truly a pleasure
May actually keep the PD Index (now archived Essential Reading, I do believe - seemed to lose its place during the server upgrade which I do hope doesn't mean it's no longer gonna be updated cos it was/is one of the finest drug info resources on the whole site in my view) if the PD folk don't mind the extra-forumnical advertising. I may not visit there so often these days but PD is still the mistress to my EADD wifey.
The mods here have been amazing. Instead of just giving out warnings/infractions, they take time out to talk to the people involved n get to the bottom of things. That, in my book, is harder than giving out infractions/warnings n shows that the mods truly care about the members here. I've never been a mod, so this may seem hypocritical but in my opinion, being a mod is about Empathy n understanding, caring for the members n the sub-section you're on. Yes holding the rules is important but so are other stuff why we all loved Knock so much n loved Albion n Snolly.
People appreciate it when mods take time to talk to them n often are more likely to keep to rules n what-not in a much better, warmer n friendly way.
Knock n Albion
(I wish there was a glass icon but there isn't so hope no one minds me putting

instead) xxxx
I agree with all of that. Much modwork is just donkey work - editing naughtiness, closing/moving/merging threads and the like - essentially anybody can do that stuff. It's those who are prepared to go that extra mile and try to find solutions to problems and issues members may have rather than jumping straight for the rule book and winging it at people willynilly that are the mods that are most successful and valued. We do remarkably well for those in EADD I must say.
Hopefully some of the community will still be here and hold it together, even though some of the best have departed.
I truly hope we don't lose any more members. Not in any sense of the word. As I said yesterday, I truly believe that the best that could come from Knock's passing is for the forum to pull together rather than tear itself apart. We all get frustrated with assorted issues regarding EADD and the wider site but ultimately I think it far more important to try to work towards making the changes we'd like to see rather than pointing fingers and breaking down what has taken so many years of incremental improvements to create this forum that so many of us have so much

for. Any forum is a product of its members' contributions and we've had so many very fine members making so many very fine contributions. This is something to build upon not to break down.
Correct.
And if the community can't come to an agreement on a specific charity, nor if we hear from the wishes of the family (whether that be a charity or flowers), then I suggest for those that want to donate then an MS charity would be suitable.
I'm finding it difficult to want to post about anything else at the moment. The only threads I've been on are this one and Knock's RIP thread. I think I'll be doing an Albi too.
Take care everyone.
It's perfectly understandable that people may not feel as up for the usual knockabout stuff and general malarkey that is the bread and butter of EADD between drug threads, but I hope any that do feel that way will return when they feel the time is right. If there's anything more saddening than Knock's passing it's all the talk of people wanting to leave as a result. Taking time away I can totally understand, but I do hope it's on a temporary basis cos - for better or worse - EADD will go on and I'd very much like it to be for the better.
how do you guys smoke bupe? Like you crush the pills and chase that?
That's what I've done in the past. Needs to be the smallest pills though - the big 8mg buggers are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too big and full of excess crap to even consider smoking. The 2mg pills (or indeed even smaller Temgesics) can be chased off tinfoil. It's somewhat akin to taking a cheesegrater to one's lungs so definitely not recommended, but it does get you pretty fucked. Plugging is definitely preferable and also provides quite a rush/hit due to much higher bioavailability than sublingual - or even nasal, I think.
