Gibberings then. I'm cold, last dose of EPH kicking in. I say that now. Waiting for my parents to visit on Saturday because we will finally be purchasing A Sofa! Just a cheap leather three seater (possibly fake leather, don't care) and gonna be well happy cos only had a bean bag sofa for the past two and a half months and it is distinctly lacking beans now and giving me a bad back. Taken to sitting at table but it's in a draught.

None of that matters. The sofa will not be ordered but at least maybe we'll get to go to Dunelm. I fucking love Dunelm. I love how colour coded it is.

what or where is Dunelm :?

When i first moved into my house, i moved in with just enough posesssions to need a few car trips to and from my bedsit where i was living before with crackheads and harry chrisnas, zen budhists, ex prisoners, care in the community patients, and asyslym seekers, was 'very interesting' people to house share with, before moving back up in the world to a whole house.

I had Fuck All furniture to begin with, matress on the floor, one armchair in the living room for ages, (was like that scene off the movie Pink Floyd's The Wall - solitary armchair infront of the tv)and it was all charity shop second hand stuff. Over the years ive gradually upgraded the furniture in my living room to a level and style im satisfied with. Never did get round to upgrading stuff in the other rooms, maybe when i get a job again I'll think about it, like getting nice oak chests of drawers and stuff like that, but its really not a priority, Id rather get a better TV or sound system instead if and when i next feel that ive got enough disposable money. I dont give a shit that the cooker is about 30 years old and covered in rust, if it still works it wont ever get replaced. Same goes for the carpets. A secure roof over my head and my own front door has allways been the main thing.

at risk of sounding sexist, that's where a 'bachelor pad' and a womans house would be different. The entertainment technology is far more important than the kitchen. :D
For some reason I don't like to swear much on here, so I'll just leave a few smileys here instead. 8( 8)

But it did raise my tolerance, usually 79mgs of MXP I would have felt quite a bit

All dissos have horrid cross-tolerance, yes. Gets to be a very expensive and/or very frustrating bizniz :!

You have quite the talent for posts like this, MDB =D

It is an amazingly huge shop that sells home furnishings and is automatically hated by everyone until they get their first house.

Also feel you on the Fuck All Furniture front. For my first few weeks here I had a beanbag, a bed and my telly. And it was COLD. Most of the stuff I have now is from relatives/dead people but some of it's mine from my parents' house. Stuff will eventually get replaced when money is more freely available but I'm happy just to be here.

Edit: Still ain't got a freezer or washer cos although the entire house was redone entirely before we bought it, my Dad is doing the few bits and bobs that 'urgently need doing' which, in his mind, means spending two months cleaning the loft out. Still got no shower and I hate daily baths, but hey ho. Hopefully have the remaining white goods here this weekend or next week.

Haha yeah, my Dad would be same. Got an eye for interior decorating but not in a gay way. Mother is terrible at it. But yeah takes time, and I got time :)

Ive not got a freezer either, apart from the tiny compartment in the top of the fridge. Dont really need one at all though, as i live so close to big and cheap supermarkets. I got a free grant for the council to put about 2-3 feet of insulation in the loft, and they did the work all free of cost. Disappointingly it doesnt seem to have made much difference to the warmth of the house, i think i need to get a double glazed window for my living room. I really should do that at least if i ever get the money together to spare.

Aw, nice one on the insulation grant. We get random letters off council offering stuff like that, won't pave down our alleyway tho cos it's not council owned apparently, but is fucking lethal. Double glazing is quality though, definitely worth it and is cheap as fuck if you believe that terrifying gnome off the Safestyle adverts. Had someone round trying to sell me double glazing other week. Like, they must not even have bothered looking at the house. It was triple A double glazing! I don't know what the fuck that is and, further to the sad thread, ended up signing up for an appointment then just not answering the phone when they rang :|

Am wanting solar panels, Mum and Dad got em (it's de rigeur where they live now) and apparently they save quite a lot. Every time the sun hits them me Mum runs to switch the power to solar then sticks the washer on and then the barely used tumbler after (banned except for special occasions usually). Can get Gov't grants for them too, can be installed free and you get the lovely free power of the sun n can sell rest of it off to the national grid or whatever the fuck.

Apparently my house isn't eligible. But I live in Hull so it does not matter.
